My post was tongue in cheek.... hence the use of smilies!.... and the four hawkbills in a congress. :o

BTW, I can skin and quarter a buck with a sodbuster..... that would be very difficult with a box cutter. :p
 
From the British contingent, congress patterns are stunning. As long as it keeps the blades legal here in the UK which is less than three inches, then I'm in for a congress.

Every year the Traditional forum, through a series of discussions and polls, comes up with a knife design that we shop around to various companies to make as a limited run for us. We're just now in the beginning stages, with much more discussion and polling to come. Prices run about $100/knife and you end up with something that all of us had a hand in designing.
 
So would something like the GEC Easy Open that was done with a bottle opener be considered? I love the sheepsfoot blade or wharncliffe blade myself and Ghost jade G10

Would imagine we are no where close to constructing a buyer list yet. Still fleshing out the details of the knife before it is submitted for bid/build to various companies.

I would not hold your breath on anything resembling a repeat, heck people don't even like repeating the same steel. :D

Likely not for a couple of months.
Haven't finished selecting a design. (couple weeks)
Haven't gotten bids from the knife companies (4-5 weeks)
Haven't selected a knife company and set a price (more weeks)
 
The length of the main Sheepsfoot in a Congress Jack

Are there expectations that the main blade will be longer than a regular Congress?
 
Now that it looks certain that it will be a congress jack, I'd like to propose a shield, like posted at the top of post 42 and the Ryuchi in post 75. The one that is horizontally symetrical, rather than along the length axis.

I've been wanting something with a federal shield, but those options might work.
