2013 Case/Bose Collaboration

I have no idea what it would take, but to me this particular collaboration has "Swayback Jack" written all over it.

Meaning, even if it takes years, I'd love for this to become part of Case's regular production someday.

Not that I'd risk waiting for that, if in a position to get this one!

You might be right...but who knows? I'm still waiting for the Case/Bose Dogleg Jack to get into regular production :p
Instead, I feel the opposite; I guess Case does not want to introduce the collab knives into regular production.
One more reason to look for one this year

Per "My "hookup" barely got any of the Lanny's Clips last year. If they don't get any, or if I'm not first in line like I was last year, I'll hopefully find one on the Exchange. " I am not sure what you mean about availability of Case/Bose. It's been 4 months since the issue of the current pattern and it is still available on-line in every single handle material. If you are looking for a "user" knife, the last three year's models are still readily available on-line in bone. If you've got the cash, you can get the knife.

Fausto has to contend with shipping charges, and I'm guessing sticky fingers might be a problem at the old customs office?

If I get one of those you better believe I'll carry it! Carried my Norfolk yesterday, and Lanny's Clip last weekend. That pattern is begging to be in the pocket, and I should be able to afford it by fall, that is if not too many other "must haves" come out first :D

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the 2012 Traditional's Forum Knife based loosely on that pattern?

Seems appropriate to put up a couple of comparison pictures. Here's the Forum knife, which I love, with my T. Bose 3 1/2" WT which shows a fair bit of wear because I carry it!

Tony's knife, despite me having several great EDCs, is still my favorite pocket knife! I'm carrying it today, along with my "boiled" TC Barlow".;)

Excellent and very telling comparison, Charlie. Thanks for posting it up.

Thanks for the pic, Charlie. Although I do like the forum knife this years collab is going to be a knockout. The size, decent ss blades and Tony's pattern! I've carried a WT made by Joel Chamblin for years. It needs a rest. ;)

How does it compare in size to the existing CASE Wharncliffe Mini-Trapper?

Obviously I don't have a Bose to compare it to, but if I superimpose my Case mini WT and eyeball it (meaning I'm putting the knife inbetween my face and my screen), it looks like the Bose version might be a slight bit broader in the handles, and the blades in the closed position take up a hair bit more territory.

Pretty close. Here is a Reese Bose WT but I believe the dimensions are the same as Tony's.

Here's an older pic with a GEC #48 Jack and a #73.

Very helpful pics, Trand. Looks like the Bose pattern has a good bit more "junk in the trunk", as it were...but some people like that. Even if it is a bit heavier and a tad less pocket friendly than the normal Case, it still looks extremely pocketable. The Bose appears to have a hair more cutting edge, and that's always nice. I like that the nail nicks are at the same place too. It's never really been a problem, but it's always kinda bugged me how "choked up" the nail nick on the clip blade of the mini trapper is.

Looks like you won the stag lottery on that damascus Case as well.

Spot on Aaron.

As for the Mini Trapper, the pile side stag doesn't match the mark side in texture and color but I'm more of a stickler for even thickness on stag if possible.

Just looking at the photos of the comparisons, Case could have adjusted the clip blade profile just a bit and placed a nick similarly to the Bose knife. I am not really complaining because the Case model works fine for me, actually better than the BF knife. Don't own a Bose, so I don't have "hands on" with it. I do think I like the Case's slimmer profile better than the BF knife.

Here's a couple I've got. Pound for pound the best EDC knife you can have...imho. It carries like a small knife
but will do big boy knife work...lol. :D

Thank goodness for this thread. I almost bought the GEC #53 Furtaker Trapper which looks similar. I'm getting this instead.
