Thanks Gene, for standing up with me! You can join me in the trenches anytime!!
And thanks Ed for tempering your words. It takes a big person to do that.
On to the 2013 knife:

I will certainly discuss this with Queen, if asked by the Elders!;)

agreed, good on ed

I keep getting distracted by your semi-precious beads! Nice collection!!
The wedge between the springs is purposely cut short, because if it floats up slightly, it presents a razor edge to your finger if it is long!! I have the scar to prove it, from a 40 year old Case!!
The handles look great!! I'd like to see crisper grind lines, and swedges on the secondaries, but that's personal taste.
Nice knife!

I wish I could find out more about this Schrade Walden pattern or a bigger better pic but this looks like a 2013 winner to me.

th

now that looks like somethin i could vote for :D
nice knife

How about something like a 66 jack with california clip and a coping second with the pulls on the same side?

I am still on board with the congress jack as well.

I am interested in unique with useful blades. Others have a $100 limit, I have a if it is not something I will use I wont buy it, limit. I will give it a shot and thats what I like about these knives. If I dont like it, I trade it to someone who does.

Nice Dogleg, Ted! Say - - - - -is one Forum knife going to be enough??:D

How's about a Doctor's Knife pattern? Maybe a spear-point & spatula blade combo? Could even go with two different steels depending on what folks want... and it might keep cost down.

Another thought is a mini Sunfish/Whaler but the retooling from the manufacturer might be cost-prohibitive... :/

I wouldn't mind seeing a large serpentine jack.
Think GEC #66 frame, on steroids.
Say maybe 4 inches?

I thought Doctors knife too but most that buy these forum knives EDC 'em and unless you're a pharmacist I don't see a lot of EDC use for a long spear and spatula combo although I could very easily see myself usin' the spatula for mixin' 2 part epoxies. :)

Now how about a nice Gunstock with a california clip and a small sheepsfoot?

That be true, Ted, but I like the spatula blade for scraping, perhaps a little prying and can make for a driver in a pinch (spare my edge, as it were ;).) Cut in a cap-lifter and it's a winner, imo! :) Of course, a pen blade is always an option...

I use a lot of epoxy and could see myself using a doctors knife. I love the gunstock idea  Lets make sure it stays a sheepsfoot and doesnt turn into the too pointy cousin Mr. Wharncliffe ;)

Was out on a hike with the family today and happen to take a pic with the cali clip/coping combo out. Love that gunstock Ted!

Maybe we should try to winnow out a pattern with a preliminary poll....

A prelim poll sounds good but maybe it should be with number of blades first? Get an idea of what patterns to look at based on the number of blades people want? Simple 1,2,3,4 and we get the ball rolling.

Folks, this is all fabrications out in the ether until Spark gives a green light. I think it's good to explore ideas, but I think it is too soon for polls. I still have not heard back from him on the Query I sent Thursday night.

Once we get a green light from Spark, Gary and I will ask for volunteers and select a couple of folks to organize the polls. Speaking for me, I don't have time for organizing polls. Last year I was involved in the process more than I wanted to be. But that was the first year of working through Spark and it took a bit of doing to arrange that. And more time to pour oil on troubled waters.

That's what I'm talkin' about, let's not put the cart before the horse here, there's a somewhat cohesive procedure we go through to arrive at the final knife.

This thread's great for wish list and dream knives but until kevin says go or some other philanthropist steps up and foots the $20,000+ this project needs not to mention the commitment polls are pointless.

To the new members chompin' at the bit to get this process rollin' I strongly recommend you do a search on previous forum knife threads like the 2008 or the 2011 and 2012 knife pollin' threads to get an inklin' as to how involved this all becomes.

The great folks who volunteer they're time to do this are tryin' to please on average 150-200+ members, that ain't no easy task.

Keep your eys open, when the threads/polls start to decide what we're gonna do you'll see the wild amount of replies that are generated almost instantly, (there are a lotta people who wait all year to get in on this)

Again, be nice, be patient, be involved and when the polls start have fun, in the last 7 years of doin' this I've learned a lot and in the process got a knice mini collection goin'.

I like 2 blade knives, that gunstock with a sheepsfoot secondary sounds very nice.
keeping things under or at least close to the $100 mark would be nice.
I missed out on the 2011, but am very happy with the 2012 knife.
from a pocket carry perspective, something under 3.5" closed and fairly thin would be nice.
under 3" would be gravy.

Ok. I'm going to wander off the reservation for a moment or two. I borrowed this pic from Martineden's thread.

Could we get someone to make a New and Improved 125OT? I'm thinking a 4 inch version in Ivory Micarta would be nearly perfect.

A 4" 125OT would be the 123OT. Not a bad idea. It's a great pattern. Single blade, slim profile.

THANK YOU HAL!!!

I thought there was a 4 inch one. 123OT. Now I know.
