2013 Forum knife?

The Queen made 2010 Forum knife is defo pinned, look inside the liner. They used this exact frame for the Heritage Woodsman knife in Ebony or Bone (3 blades) that's pinned too. As are QCCC knives, the ordinary D2 knives have a glued coin shield.

As for this year's knife, how about a single-blade Copperhead? Not a common knife, not big not small, covered tang (pocket friendly!) doesn't HAVE to have brown coloured handles...hint. Caramel, Red, Ivory micarta

I like this idea, and I like GECs goldenrod micarta, hint hint.

I believe Queen has a copperhead in production and Boker as well. Case could easily make a single blade copperhead although I'd rather see them make a single blade knife on the sowbelly frame. The Case and Queen sowbelly frame and the standard copperhead frame (Queen, Boker) are very close in shape and size.

Thanks, I've got the Queen Copperhead (admit it's a liner lock version so that's not needed here, interestingly enough it retains the backspring as well so it's ultra safe. The Böker version is just linerlock and I wouldn't trust it...) It's a sturdy knife with a decent sized Clip blade and yet not bloated or bulky.

The New Queen company could be considered for this and I think they could offer carbon, stainless or D2 as a blade. But, it's up to a lot of other factors.

Not sure. but will take the opportunity to lobby for a Peanut in 1095, Stag would be great, but a nice bone would work. Needs a shield as well. Steven

Id like to see a Seahorse or sleevboard Whittler with a Wharncliffe main blade...just sayin...:)

I'm new here and WILL buy whatever everyone picks I will also help in any way asked. That said something smaller with one spring the new #6 from GEC or bigger #72 with wharnie something In the middle # 66 with a bottle opener on one end? What ever you guys pick just make enough of them. I joined about the time everyone was getting the '12 and I have been trying to get one ever since.

When it comes to the Wharncliff blades keep in mind we did 2 Wharncliff knives already, the 2009 Barlow and the 2012 Trapper were both Wharncliffs and fine examples they both were.

Look back to see what Traditional Forum knives we've done, there are 7 Traditional Forum knives so far so every year we try to come up with something unique or at least different variations of an old pattern.

I'll see if I can bundle some old Forum Knife threads so some of the members new to the process can catch up on how we go about this and contribute to the process if they decide they wanna commit to a forum knife.

Did I mention the two choices this year are between a Gunstock or a Congress, (shameless plug for my choices ;) )

Congress or Sowbelly would make me happy. Carbon steel would also make me happy.

My 2012 is enroute today but the one I really want is the 2011-bad. I like your idea something in the middle size.

Hi,

I'm so hoping to finally get in on a forum knife. I've seen some nice ones made during my time here. I would vote for a Congress in plain high carbon steel.
question is 2 or 4 blades?

To keep the price point reasonable and the frame thin, a 2 blade Half Congress.

I'm glad we've all agreed on a Sodbuster with horn scales! :D

In all seriousness, since Sodbusters are much cheaper, it will allow more members to take part as well as make it easier for us to buy multiples for collecting & gifts.

A Sodbuster with Buffalo horn would be sweet.

Hi,

I see the point of a Soddie. And the cost would be more within reach for most. I've never owned one myself. I could be persuaded. Hmmmmmm.....

I mean look how sexy that pattern is, this is one of our own here Ken Erickson 1/2 Congress.

id be all in on a sodbuster, but i foresee a big problem in regards with the blade shape. I know that i myself, and others love the belly of the sodbuster, but then i know that the other half likes sodbuster with a point, and more of a drop point shape. maybe some sort of compromise in the middle?

Congress would be fine. I will buy one no matter what it is. I always do. I do not have a congress yet.
