2014 Forum Knife

Great options shown on both accounts. This should be very interesting. I have my leaning on the offers but will withhold them for now. For the opportunity two be a part of it both are a value.

Nothing wrong with the CS offering, for sure, but it pretty much looks to me like a nicely made trapper. The GEC on the other hand is really distinctive and beautiful.

The GEC option looks great and I feel like their f&f is more reliable than other said makers... Just my humble / honest opinion.

Great options! If CSC is chosen, I want the clip/spey trapper. I have a regular production half moon already and would like something different. 1095 would be my preference for this knife..... just for the uniqueness of a Carbon CSC.

If GEC is chosen.... I'd probably like the single blade version, but I'd not be as particular of steel.

Those look great. My vote would go to single clip from GEC. If the secondary on the jack could be a coping, my vote would change :)

I like both of those knives, but I think I would prefer the GEC. I don't have any nice knives with stag scales yet.

Is the GEC a new pattern or is it the same as the #79 and #78?
I really hope it's not on the 78 frame. There's one at my local dealer that I wanted badly. The spring is so strong I wouldn't enjoy owning it. We're not all in our 30's anymore!

Keep in mind the CSC trapper isn't pictured with stag or the right blade or the BFC shield, those three things not represented in the pic give the knife a different look altogether. I think the trapper in stag would be an awesome knife.

That said, I like the GEC myself, with one blade.

My first post regarding this year's forum knife. I'm just glad a wharnclif isn't in the mix like it was in 2012. Any one of the three shown would get my attention. A CSC clip/long spey in stainless or either version of the GEC (jack or single blade, but like RG said above a coping second would also be nice). I'll be in for pre-paying for two for sure, three if the overtime gods smile on me close to time to pay.

GEC 48 frame, single blade, ebony scales, rat tail bolster, skip the shield. If it has to be 2 blades, which only makes it overly bulky, go with the "improved" blade combo - clip and wharny.

BLEH, on both... Too traditional. ;) I need to think for a while. They both look great. Choices choices!

Love the GEC in a 2 blade! That's my vote but a single blade works also. Thanks again Charlie for all the effort that you are putting in on this.

Great work Charlie, and hats off to GEC and Canal Street! Whichever is the final choice please count me in!
