2015 Forum Knife. A Work in Progress!

Andi if it helps I'd gladly wait if it gets yours to you any sooner put me to the end of the list. (by Ted - quoting didn´t work somehow)

Thanks for your kind offer. But it is not the problem of shipping; postal service works fine. Mostly the things ordered overseas are stuck in customs for two or three weeks until I get a letter and can get my order at their office.

Thanks for the WIP pictures, looks like they are coming along nicely. Good to see the bladeforums stamp on the tang, it came out nice. Getting excited to get mine in hand!

Kermit arm flail!

This is fantastic to see. Thanks for sharing the WIP photos!

Hey guys I haven't said anything about the knife, new knives aren't in the budget for me this year. But my wife knows how much I loved this years knife and she got it for me for my birthday! I'm really pumped for this one. And my first bladeforums knife.
Yup, I married up. She got me a GEC 47 Viper for last years birthday :D

Just wanted to add a thank you to everyone for their contributions and efforts to make this knife happen. Much Appreciated!

I don't mean to step on anybodies toes here as I'm
NEW to traditional knives. I just got my first, a case medium stockman in amberbone. I'm a Modern folder/fixed blade and multi tool/SAK guy. For 88$, is the quality exceeding the price? And what exactly does the pattern look like? Is it useful, large? I apologize if my questions seem rude, I'm just trying to learn and there are so many traditionals I now want!

This is just too cool - as a forum member I have to say the entire process has been sheer joy since the very beginning! OH

Thank you for the update Charlie!! :D  :D VERY exciting to see some WIP pics - real progress, it gave me goosebumps!

Yes, by a good margin. We're essentially getting a semi-custom (designed by the masses here) limited production knife for a good $40-$50 less than a similar mass produced pattern on the open market. If you're on the fence, I highly recommend you get one while you still can. This exact knife won't be made again, so this is the one and only shot at this knife!

Yippee!

It looks like there's a lot of light/dark variation in the wood. I'm looking forward to seeing how different everyone's knives look when we get them in hand and post pictures. Takes me back to comparing our Stag Jacks last year.

The price is the price. The knife is a special order specifically for the traditional forum folks/Blade Forums. There is only one 2015 Blade Forums knife (traditional). It is not being made "for profit". You can read up on things in that other thread, but I believe it's about a 4" closed length knife which for me is a good size, and not too large and not too small. I am generally not a big fan of smaller traditionals for using. That is one of the things that keeps me from going shopper crazy on some of the special order barlows which typically are about 3.5" closed. Check around and you'll see that the price is pretty competitive with knives "knives for profit" especially special order ones which have limited production.

I appreciate the pictures and it certainly contributes to the anticipation factor.

^ many will echo your sentiments Sam and 22rimfire, well put. I can't wait to get my knives in hand!

One other thing to point out from someone also fairly new to traditional knives, this has stainless blades. It seems like most of the cool traditional knives are carbon steel blades, which doesn't appeal to me as much coming from modern knives. For this price I think you will be really happy with buying one.
