2015 Forum Knife. A Work in Progress!

It looks like there's a lot of light/dark variation in the wood. I'm looking forward to seeing how different everyone's knives look when we get them in hand and post pictures. Takes me back to comparing our Stag Jacks last year.

That thread is going to be epic. I can't wait!

At last we get a peek at what's going on!
After some minor setbacks, production is ramping up!!
Here are some matched handles, ready to pin to the liners:

These are catch pieces, which allow different thickness blades to operate on a single spring:

I don't know if I'm naive or just really, really new to slip joint patterns, but what are the two blade styles? Clip point and...? I'm guessing wharncliffe?

Sheepfoot.

It will be interesting to see how the wood shines up.

Thanks, Will

I'm honestly getting excited. I don't know why the sudden switch in knives for me. Maybe it's the simplicity. Can't wait!

I'm looking forward to the knife too. Getting "excited" is all part of the fun. I do prefer a half stop, but I'll live on that front. In my case, this knife probably won't get used anyway. Yes, clip and wharncliffe blades.

I like knives with half stops, and I like knives without them. Heck, some of my pocket knives have both at the same time!

Seeing a knife being made is always a treat. I honestly could look at those type of pics all day.

Thank you again to those who made this happen.

I also can't wait to see how the bocote polishes up. I've never had any first hand experience with the stuff. All I have to go by is pictures. I really liked how there was a lot of variation between slabs.
(fingers crossed for a dark one)

Half stops is something that didn't really cross my mind and it's a non issue for me. Premium double-end jacks often don't have them.

This combination of blades on a single spring is my ideal combination and unforunately there aren't very many... even fewer on a serpentine frame... and I can't think of any that are shadow patterns. It's a unique knife. The blades look great. The Schrade heritage shield is a nice touch. This knife will be going in my pocket as soon as I receive it!

May I ask about the approximate weight of the knife? It really looks tempting (I just happen to have started to look for a traditional folder and currently drool over Robert Klaas knives)
