2015 Forum Knife - It's Never Too Early To Think About the Next Blade Forum Knife

Now where did I put that bottle of liniment?

Thanks for all the enthusiasm my friends!

Thanks Liam for offering your services!!

And most of all, Barry deserves our thanks for taking on what I consider the hardest part! Keeping the records, and shipping out the knives.

I have gotten a raft of offers of assistance, emails and PMs. I am grateful to all of you, that you have offered to cover our backs.

It will take a while to get some information from the cutleries.

There is no hurry right now, so I will start another thread when we get closer to choosing time. In the meantime, the discussion here is enjoyable, and gives me some inspiration. As we did last year, I will try to extract some ideas from your comments, fold neatly with knives any manufacturers are willing to offer, put the ideas into a budget (less than $100) baking pan, and hope it all rises to the top!!!

It's kind of exciting! Not knowing what we are going to cook up!!
I will remember this moment . . . . .

Charlie, Barry, thank you for efforts. I know it's a big job. I am looking forward to participating! I wish you both much success with this project.

Curtis

Wow! I go to work and come home to find this! Best news I have had all day. Thank you gents. You are tops in my book.

Chris

Barry, Liam, Spark, and Charlie, thank you all for everything, and I do hope to get up to platinum again, I hate not seeing it that way. It is great knowing that there is a chance to move forward with this, although not easy, but very appreciated endeavour. I know I am not alone in looking forward to the surprise of what will come about- even if it is t my cup of tea!

I look forward to seeing if it's a Wharncliffe or clip point punch peanut that is chosen, right Charlie, fellow Canadian... (You take bribes right?)... Um... What do you mean this isn't a PM.... Oh darn....

In all seriousness, I love this thread for the ideas that go out there and for the chances that something like a congress Jack gets made. While I would love to see something like my chosen pattern done, I know it's a rare chance and I'm just having fun, as most are I'm sure.

I patiently look forward to what comes down the pipe, and hope it fits my needs and budget!! And has sexy curves, and match strike pulls, and...... Oops, there I go again ;-)

Thanks again for everything!

THANK YOU AGAIN, Charlie, Barry, Liam and Spark, your love for traditional knives and this forum community must be the reason you donate so much time and work. We are indeed lucky to have you here.

Spark is on board!! I talked to him this morning.
He said go for it. I re-iterated that I would ask people to upgrade their memberships. I am hoping those who can, will do it to support this wonderful place!!:)

I have agreed to facilitate for one more year, if you all will have me???
I will not accept the payments, or do the clerical work. I have to agree those are not my strong suits!:o

Sincere thanks for jumping on the grenade again Charlie ;) I hope that people will appreciate that you're taking on a great deal of unpaid work in addition to all your other projects, and that this is being done so that there'll be a 2015 Traditional Bladeforums knife - without you, and without Spark's blessing, that wouldn't be the case. I look forward to seeing what you and Team Charlie come up with, and as others have said, I really don't think anyone could do a better job. Thank you my friend

A great big THANK YOU to Charlie! You are the best!

I'll be volunteering the ordering and shipping when the time arrives. ;)

(Meanwhile, I'm sure Charlie would appreciate not being flooded with emails and PMs about the knife. :grumpy: This project will come together by and by as it did last year, and with Charlie at the helm I'm sure we will all be thrilled with whatever choice he makes to be the 2015 BF knife.)

These will be on a pre-order and pay basis similar to last year.

Again, sincere thanks Barry, you also did an excellent job last year, and again, I hope that everyone will appreciate the huge amount of unpaid work you'll be donating, in addition to running your business. I just wanted to echo what you say, and hope people will pay attention, I'm sure Charlie will ask for any help he needs, and having his inbox flooded by well-meaning volunteers will only cause him extra work.

Thanks also of course to Liam, who did a great job on the artwork last year.

Great stuff fellers

Thank you all for taking this on! It was a 2014 Forum knife that I bought from Primble that brought me back to traditional knives, and I can't wait to see what you come up with this year.

Oh Jack I appreciate everything these gentlemen do, I was so afraid that the 2013 was the last forum knife for the group and when Charlie jumped in I knew we were saved and with the generosity of other members, especially Loyd's donation of the beautiful Stag. Like I said earlier I'm tickled pink and ready to avail my services to anyone in need to continue moving forward with this year's knife.

I couldn't agree more Ted, you bring a great perspective to these discussions - that of informed experience my friend

Excellent news, Charlie! With you on board this year's knife is sure to be another winner!

Thanks to BF, Charlie, Barry, Liam and everyone else who will be taking part in the process and making it happen.

Amazing! Many thanks to Spark, Charlie, Barry, Liam and others. Looking forward to the opportunity to see this coming to light. :)

There are about 600 people jumping up and down right now, hopefully we'll crack the 400 mark this year.

My sincere thanks to all who have even considered working this project!

Huge thanks to Charlie, Barry, Liam and Spark!
I hope every dedicated forum member that can afford one will place an order no matter the design choice. This will help ensure the success of future projects. Even if you don't like the knife once in hand you can be sure you can get your money back selling it on the exchange, sometimes even making a profit! (Anyone want to sell their 2011 BF knife at the original purchase price? I didn't think so).

BTW - - - -Support BladeForums, GO GOLD!

NO PRESSURE !!! :eek::D

Sounds good Liam, I thought last years label was great looking.

OK, here's my $.02 worth: an 85 pattern GEC easy opener with ornate gimp shield and jigged bone covers, single blade with heavy stamp (like Galvanic's Eureka Jack), maybe something like "Old Reliable" on a fat spear blade.

OK, I'm done! lol

This would be great Barry if it comes to pass....wow!

How about a New England Whaler pattern, as posted in other threads by Mr thawk? ;)
