2015 Forum Knife - It's Never Too Early To Think About the Next Blade Forum Knife

I don't care what the pattern is, just stick a cap lifter on it and I will be happy!

I'm imagining Chez Philllll: a little Florida bungalow with knives on every flat surface and a floor littered with bottle caps from the empty Cream Sodas!

A screwdriver-caplifter would sure see more time in my pocket!

How about a "Phillbuster"?! Ha? Just replace the pen blade with a BEER cap lifter!:thumbup::D

I'll do a prototype and have you test it Phil! :D

You could use the bottom to crush ice too! For ladies drinks and such. :D

New England Whaler is looking pretty nice. Ebony, as I have yet to own a knife in this material.

Single blade is fine with me, though the idea of adding a Cap-lifter to almost anything appeals to me, as well. I have the 2011 EO Jack, but can't have too much of a good thing.

Thanks to all those who have volunteered to make this year's knife happen.

Something the size of GEC's #6, #15, or #77, Case Tiny Trapper, Buck 505; all of which fit well in my watch pocket. Slim, one or two blades. Second blade should be a tool, cap lifters are always good. (Nothing says "traditional" quite like a caplifter/screwdriver/scraper as one of the blades.)

How about that "Sunbrite" for the scales if it is a GEC? Or the competition's equivalent?

In the 1960's, my "boy's knife" had a punch and cap lifter with one cutting blade. And the nifebrite or Sunbrite scales were hi tech then. For myself, that is one traditional slipjoint. Smooth bone or Case's yellow delrin would be good too.

I'm happy to go with whatever Team Charlie decide, I know they'll think carefully about it, and factor in issues such as cost and traditional pedigree.

Plenty of good knives with cap-lifters around already, and we had one on the 2011 knife.

How about a special run of Charlie's Washington Jacks with Blade Forums blue smooth bone scales?

just waiting to find out where to send payment!

Only January, think that'll be six months away. Plenty of time. Now that Charlie has agreed to captain the project again, I think he deserves to be allowed to take a breather - even more so than when this thread was started

An ebony whaler would be nice. Barehead, with rat tail bolsters. All-steel construction, just like the Charlows. I don't think we've ever done that with a forum knife.

A coffin jack would be a cool one to resurrect. Maybe a 3 7/8 knife with a spear main with a long pull and the pen in front.

Other than the Case/Bose collaboration knife a few years back it is not well represented in the traditional knife world.

I reaaally want something on the 76 gunstock frame but a coffin jack would be pretty awesome too! I'm just excited Charlie & crew are taking over again. :)

Thinking aloud about handle options....

Stag, been done 3 or 4 times

Jigged Bone, twice at least, both brown.

Wood, once.

Micarta/synth, once

Smooth Bone?? Don't think it has been given a chance , yet....
