2015 Forum Knife - It's Never Too Early To Think About the Next Blade Forum Knife

That's beautiful. If that's the only forthcoming entry I would be very happy.

Interessting and a nice knife, for sure. I´d be in for one or even two of them. :)
I like the idea of a shadow pattern / design for this years´ forum knife.

Shadow is a very welcome idea indeed! Just don't care for their shield, but I expect something else could be used in its place.

Good to have something to mull over.

Thanks, Will

I don't mind their shield but would like KaBars copper dogs head shield better. Since CSC already manufactures KaBars traditional knives maybe we could get them involved and get their blessing on using the dogs head shield. :) I would also be more than happy with it exactly as it sits now too though.

Great job Charlie. Thanks for all you are doing for us. Love the idea of a two bladed single spring.

Sorry if the information is slow in coming! The Case executive I have to talk to is still traveling. I may not speak to him before the Oregon show this weekend coming.
True to form, Canal street has offered an actual prototype!
They do beautiful work, but are less flexible than GEC (who do a lot of in-house engineering) I asked them to propose a knife, suggesting that a single spring two-blade might be the ticket, along with our under $100 final cost requirement.
Here it is!

A little different, and pretty nice!!
I believe they will offer stainless or carbon, and I don't know the wood yet.

Bringing it forward with a couple of extra notes:
>Other shields are definitely optional!
>They are also offering a sample with bolsters - to be finished today!

I like that offering, as it is like nothing we have seen recently from any companies. Such an interesting design.

Very cool!

I like that Canal Street A LOT! Not a huge fan of wood shadow patterns though, if Micarta is an option... Then again it's about time for a wood Forum Knife so maybe the version with bolsters will be the ticket.

If we can get the "CS" on their shield replaced with "BF" or "15" it would be hard to imagine the vote going any other direction.

Charlie,
I was never a fan of single spring two bladed knives...but this might be my first one.
I wonder if it would be any better if we reverse the sheepsfoot (nick on the mark side). Would it sit any lower?
I assume it's based on their 4" frame. Bolsters are fine, but shadow is nice too. Same shield with BF would be awesome. D2 is my choice. :)

Nice design. Would have preferred jigged bone but wood with tip bolsters might be nice. Any chance for sunk joints? Hate to be a "Johnny one note" but sunk joints are pocket friendly and add a touch of elegance to a slim design. Are they costly or difficult to do?

I love that knife, but would prefer the one with bolsters. I would love to see what other shield options might be available: cloud, pawn, arrowhead, dog's head???

Nice, Charlie! I'm looking forward to hearing more when additional info is available.

Watching what happened last year and looking at it this time round, I can't help but feel like Canal Street have earned the right.

Two years in a row they have been the first to step up.
Two years in a row they have been the only company (so far) to produce an actual prototype.

They're preparing a second prototype with bolsters for our viewing pleasure and they've offered either carbon or stainless blades.

I expect that other companies (two spring to mind) will produce great knives too but I just wanted to say that I think CSC deserve it. They've pulled the finger out where others haven't yet.

Just my tuppence worth. :)

I agree 100%.

A single spring Schrade looks nice. A shadow would be nice. I think it would need extra like milled ns liners or something.

Indeed! Paul is correct - let´s give CSC the pin for this years´ knife. They´ll get my vote.

Would be my first CSC at all ... ;)
