2015 Forum Knife - It's Never Too Early To Think About the Next Blade Forum Knife

I love that knife, but would prefer the one with bolsters. I would love to see what other shield options might be available: cloud, pawn, arrowhead, dog's head???

I can picture a cloud shield right in the center.

The prototype is just beautiful, would be more than happy with it just as is. Like Fausto, I assume it's their 4" frame.

My preference is for either their 14-4 stainless or D2, and a custom BF shield would be awesome.

How big is that CSC knife? Judging by the scale of the nail nicks it looks to be pretty small.

Bolsters and no shield preferred, but I like it! While I'd like to see Case make an offer, and see others from Queen or GEC, I also hate to think that failure to give Canal Street the contract would have them bow out in the future. They have been most enthusiastic about working this annual event...

I'm new here but that knife looks amazing, I'd totally snag one and I have to say I'm really impressed that CSC produced such an awesome prototype and seems to be so interested in working with the forum. My vote might not count for much but I give it to them.

Watching what happened last year and looking at it this time round, I can't help but feel like Canal Street have earned the right.

Two years in a row they have been the first to step up.
Two years in a row they have been the only company (so far) to produce an actual prototype.

They're preparing a second prototype with bolsters for our viewing pleasure and they've offered either carbon or stainless blades.

I expect that other companies (two spring to mind) will produce great knives too but I just wanted to say that I think CSC deserve it. They've pulled the finger out where others haven't yet.

Just my tuppence worth. :)

Thought the same thing when I read that it was Canal Street. They have been first stepping up and have been great looking knives.

This needed bumped onto this page. And ummmm, yes please! I like it. I look forward to pics of the bolstered version too.

Bringing it forward with a couple of extra notes:
>Other shields are definitely optional!
>They are also offering a sample with bolsters - to be finished today!

Sorry if the information is slow in coming! The Case executive I have to talk to is still traveling. I may not speak to him before the Oregon show this weekend coming.
True to form, Canal street has offered an actual prototype!
They do beautiful work, but are less flexible than GEC (who do a lot of in-house engineering) I asked them to propose a knife, suggesting that a single spring two-blade might be the ticket, along with our under $100 final cost requirement.
Here it is!

A little different, and pretty nice!!
I believe they will offer stainless or carbon, and I don't know the wood yet.

That's really impressive to have made a prototype already.......tip bolsters would be very cool!
As much as I love G.E.C. knives, it's good citizenship to spread the business around.

I gotta say I really like it also. Even the wood looks great, nice contrast to the polished pins. Hope its not too small or dainty tho, but that looks like a winner to me :)

That is looks great. I wonder if they have enough of the reclaimed chestnut to make a run of them with.
