This inside label so aptly emphasizes the community effort involved in this annual knife. Thanks to all involved as listed by Charlie. And thanks so much to the folks at CSC. These knives will help us all remember your work!

Some really great looking knives in this thread. I sure love the knife design, with those two blade shapes on a single spring in that size of a knife.

Great effort by Eric in coming up with that pattern, in such a clever and simple manner by just changing up the blade layout from an existing stockman pattern. I sure hope his skills and ingenuity will resurface in the traditional knife industry for the benefit of us all, if that's where his path takes him.

I passed on the knife this year for reasons of my own but congrats to everyone who owns this piece of history,

If it'll make you guys happy when I get my knife I'll do a review with some good pics and you're welcome to nit pick and bring up any issues you've noticed.
To be quite honest, I'm not really concerned re any issues your knife may have as that's for you to care about or not care. But re my knife, that's different.

The threads discussing this knife have gone all year, even into last year I believe.

That only happened because a discussion thread on the 2015 knife was started before many of us had even received the 2014 knife. Some of the comments and sniping in that thread were highly unworthy of this forum in my opinion. Ideally, I would hope for a decent pause, when those who have volunteered so much hard work for the collective good, can rest on their hard-earned laurels, but I'll be surprised if that happens. Some posters seem to think an annual forum knife is something they have a right to, whereas the reality is that it's only because Charlie stepped up in 2014 that we got a forum knife at all, and without the team volunteering their services this year, there wouldn't have been a 2015 knife either. Charlie said long ago that he was taking a break, which he's certainly earned in my opinion, so without a qualified team, which companies like GEC are prepared to work with, being prepared to volunteer their services, and put up with a great deal of crap from some members, there won't be a 2016 forum knife. Maybe that's not such a bad thing, if it ends up representing acrimony rather than fellowship. Of course, I'm sure there'll be one or two of the pi** and vinegar crowd, who clearly don't realise the level of work involved, volunteering to sort things out, but I doubt anyone will take them seriously.

For my part, the chosen pattern wasn't my cup of tea, and since a surfeit of orders were expected, I chose to pass, and dropped out of the discussion. Since a majority of posters liked this pattern, and wanted one in stainless, I'm glad that Charlie and CSC were able to give them the chosen knife at a bargain price. Even though, I didn't order one, I'd once again, like to thank Team Charlie & Barry for all their hard work on behalf of this forum. Very sad about CSC, so you all got a piece of history there.

I joined BF this year and have been a happy camper. The BF knife was always going to be a memento of my first year.

Thank you to all involved!

That's a nice display for your BladeForums knife!

In the beginning when I heard the handles would be bocote I was pretty disappointed, but man these things are looking better and better. I can't wait to see which kind of grain I end up with.
I really look forward to this knife. Being such a big fan of the presidential(single spring/ straight edge secondary/ 4" closed) I'm sure this one will fit into my rotation nicely. I love a big slender knife, and I just can't get enough straight edge secondary blades.

Finally got some sunshine to take a nice pic. I'm happy with mine . . . not perfect, but a very nice knife.
Thanks again to all the enablers!

A few of you are right on the line for a Trolling Infraction. Take the chest thumping somewhere else. You know who you are.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with civil, respectful discussion about the positives and negatives of this years forum knife. Of course I'd have preferred more positives, as I'm sure the rest of those involved would.

We're not all going to agree on what's a problem or not a problem, but the discussion needs to remain civil and respectful.

When the Traditional forum knife ends up being a chore, and any joy in being involved in the process is out weighed by the problems it creates, there won't be anymore forum knife. Not a threat, just a fact.

great shots, I am partial to backspring photos of the knives :)
fascinating dolls, it is cool when the other half also has a parallel antique collecting hobby (and I would guess you also feel less guilty spending money on shiny sharp objects ;) )

When it comes to people, I go with what I learned in Kindergarten..."Don't say anything if you can't be nice"

A more modern concept is you find what you look for, so look for the goodness in life, people, knives....:). That also goes for those who crticize the critic.

Ive been gone from this forum to long, sorry i missed this years mnife, looks like a beauty:thumbup:

I just picked mine up tonight. I'm very, very, very happy with it! The knife is a high-quality build of an usual pattern. It's bigger than it looks in photos, yet it's svelt and easy to pocket. This knife also reminds me of the many forum members who've had a hand in it, and the cutlery company of whom I've been a big fan!

Pics don't do it justice, and I'll try to get some outdoor photos when the light is right.

I don't know yet whether this will be a user or one for the collection. I suppose it will come down to whether I feel using or keeping it pristine will honor Eric and the good folks at Canal Street Cutlery more.

Well dang, I'm loving the pics coming in. Pretty amazing grain textures. Like many, I ordered with the intention to carry. Then after hearing the news about CSC, thought I should shelve it. But.......I have not been able to leave it behind. It's been in my pocket (in leather) for the last week. Sorry about another sad pic. I can't take nice pics if my life depended on it.
