Thought that 2007, 2011, and 2013 were horrid, proving yet again, there is something for everyone....and tastes can often differ according to aesthetic, knowledge and preferred use.

Thanks to Charlie for taking on the project again!

I'm in either way, but I have a question:
If a spear is chosen, will it be a fat or narrow spear? The ones in the pictures are what I would call narrow, and I like that shape for this frame. :thumbup:

I would also like this knife with a clip, so I might defer to those with stronger opinions on the matter and abstain. :)
 
I voted clip point as I have been enjoying my clips but can't deny that the spear would be more aesthetically pleasing. Either blade would be great.
 
I like the idea of this knife with a clip, but based on the current poll standings, that doesn't seem likely. :rolleyes:

As a forum knife, there's very little I like about this pattern. Harness knives are regularly available, and we had a single spring design last year. For me, a Spear fits the pattern, a Clip doesn't.

There was a possibility that there wasn't going to be a knife this year since last year was supposed to be Charlie's last year. Charlie stepped up to the thankless task again this year. It's all happened a bit differently than previous years. A lot of folks even said Charlie could pick whatever he wanted. I know that not everyone thinks the same thing but it seems sort of poor that the tone has changed from "pick whatever you want" to "I don't like it".

Furthermore, I did not see anybody else falling all over themselves to take up the mantle of the forum knife, which is why I appreciate Charlie's efforts that much more and feel that his judgment and guidance in selecting a pattern (one that may ultimately bear the PPP etch from GEC, which makes it even more special). My favorite pattern of all time is the Barlow, and Charlie has been instrumental in giving the world a reason to celebrate the pattern. I feel like this could be another example of that.

Also, I have no harness jacks (though plenty of carpenter/stock knives with punches) and I think it would be awesome if my first were unique to one of my favorite places on the internet.

Tone aside, I am super excited for the prospect of this knife materializing (and encouraged by the poll results to date :D) and the only question I have is how many can I order when all is said and done. :cool:

Have already done my time in the design/cat herding on the Traditional BFC knife...the Queen Barlow with Stag...that was me and Bastid.

Can't we all just vote instead of posting all the backhanded comments?? Vote for what you want. If you don't like the choices and won't be voting or buying the knife, there's no need to rock the boat.
