2016 GEC Rendevous Dates

I looked at Oil Creek, but it seems that there's slim pickings for sites at that location for that weekend. I might have been messing up the search, though. I have one more hurdle (making sure our annual family cookout isn't happening that weekend) before I reserve a site. Hopefully this'll be cleared up by this weekend.

just fyi Tionesta PA is about 20min away and has a camping area next to the Allegheny river and the outflow of the dam. Decent fishing right off the outflow.

That's where I've got pulled up, Tionesta Rec. Area. It's the closest campground to Titusville that popped up under recreation.gov, which is where the Allegheny National Forest site sends you to reserve a campsite. If anybody else is planning on camping there let me know. We can do s'mores together. :D

Well Cory, I might have to join you down there. Though my house is only 2 hours away, we could camp in my backyard! :p

ill let ya know I doubt it though my great uncle owns a camp in Tionesta and we have some family friends that live there as well might freeload on them lol. But stayed at that campground many times growing up and caught many of fish well a few fish lol.

Tionesta is nice, my family used to go there often when I was young.

I'm planning on going, but I need to check out a hotel room. I will be the mook coming from a hotel an hour or two away because I waited too long, on Thursday afternoon, racing to get to Queen and GEC in the same afternoon. I come back from the beach the previous Saturday, I will need to take off Thursday, Friday and Monday. I wonder if they'll give me hell for that.

Looking at a famous website shilled for by Captain James Tiberius, Days Inn in Oil City looks to be the closest.

The hotels in Titusville bank it during these open house/knife show weekends! :D

Actually most folks don't even know the Rendezvous or Knife Show are happening. The Titusville Oil Festival is the Big Draw for the weekend.
It's a good time to be in Titusville PA

I just spoke to Chris at GEC, and she wanted me to post some info on the Rendezvous. GEC has reserved a block of 10 rooms for anybody coming in to town for the Rendezvous. Just call the Cross Creek Resort and mention Great Eastern Cutlery when you make your Reservation. You will automatically get one of these 10 rooms, and a Special Rate to boot. I'm not going to post a phone number here, but you can Google "Cross Creek Titusville" and get it easily. Cross Creek has a nice Restaurant and Legal Beverages on site. And my personal recommendation, don't wait to long. Titusville is a small town and rooms and options are limited. There is a lot going on there on this weekend and we don't want to see anybody left out.

What are the odds of GEC creating a lifetime membership in the way that Buck does with its' BCCI…for those of us that want some of the Rendezvous loot, but can't make the trip to Titusville? :o
