2016 GEC Rendevous Dates

Great pic ~P new ride?!

Sure is! Common sense dictates that I should drive my efficient car with actual gas mileage (my beloved Honda Fit) to Titusville, but this '06 Wrangler has captured my affections even as it pummels my frame as we ramble and roll-- it gets the nod for the August foray.

The day I brought it home:

Top down, doors off-- aka, The Point. Although, doors and a top are indicated for the Rendezvous, if only during the transporting of knives and self. All bets, and hopefully doors, are off again once I'm in Titusville.

:D

On-topic: I have some battening-down to figure out between now and then.

Common Sense ain't always a lot of fun!

If You are planning to attend the picnic on August 13th, please call Christine at G.E.C. by August 1st, 814-827-3411.
The menu is on their website. The Rendezvous is a nice laid back event to meet up with friends and make new ones. :)

Hey all, I dunno how much help this is to anybody but I figured I'd throw it out there. I live 2 hours due West of Titusville and if there's anybody driving in that needs a place to stop for the night or whatever, we've got plenty of room, an empty cul-de-sac you can park a camper or rv on, and we don't mind company. So what I'm saying is, PM me if you need to couch surf.

derp. I can directions.

Y'all getting there earlier this year? I was already on fumes by the time I met you last year, and am sorry not to have engaged more better. ;-)

Meanwhile, I've started organizing the EDC Pinata that evidently has exploded in my house (not just cutlery, but any and everything I've used "every day" for a while now, covering most surfaces).

25s and 26s Tucked in For Titusville (with one outlier... so far):

that is quite the set up!!! i have most of my knives still in their tubes

This Florida boy might make his way up there! Strings are being pulled, and funds are being gathered!

This time I won't forget to pack something marginally warm. Whoda thunk it'd get chilly in mid-August?? Well, chilly for me, anyways...

Hey Sarah, you better start warming up your cornhole toss! :D

Donna and I will be getting up there a day earlier this year, looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Yup! I'll be there on Thursday for sure. I'll be bringing a lot more knives too, and since I don't have a sweet treasure chest like you do, maybe I'll just wear a lot of pockets.

You are a bad, bad man, and that also just sounds wrong.

I shall play as always, with more enthusiasm than skill.

Good stuff, P.! Looks like you're definitely prepared for the Rendezvous! (I used to have a Jeep similar to yours; sure do miss it sometimes. Anyways, I know the cargo space is limited, but I always found you could get more stuff in there by taking out the back seat entirely. Just sayin'. :D)

The Rendezvous sounds like a good time. It would be quite a trek for me (and I feel like I'd also want to bring a whole slew of knives, and certainly wouldn't trust them in a checked bag on an airline  , so it would have to be a road trip, and that's one long road trip), but maybe I'll make it up there one year.
