This poll could also be a good estimate on how many people are going to order at least 1 knife. If a few order 2 or more, I don't see any issues hitting the 200+ quantity order.

While the price difference likely won’t be a factor for me, it may be for some. skblades skblades surely we have narrowed the field down enough that buck could give us hypothetical pricing based off a 250 pc run for each of the 3 options?

Originally I voted ironwood but I saw elk had a substantial lead and changed mine to elk. In 12 year we haven’t had an elk scaled forum knife. Maybe seein’ them all listed will help some of you in your decision. :)

Here’s a list of what we’ve done so far, we’ve had:

(2) stag,
(2) burnt stag,
(1) wooly mammoth,
(2) wood (ebony, bocote),
(3) jigged bone
(2) micarta

I'm favoring elk, for now. I like smooth, light colored bone, so if the texture or thickness of the elk isn't to my liking, I figure I can polish it down smooth. I could be persuaded to vote for ironwood, if it looks like micarta might win. :p

I'd still buy any one of these choices. :)

... we don’t get see any samples of the elk or Ironwood that would actually be used.... this makes choosing which one, a leap of faith.

Then the choice is clear. Burlap micarta. Of course, we've only seen pictures on the internet of what that looks like ...

Burlap should be the logical choice here. ;)

After all, there could be those naturally-occurring irregularities associated with Ironwood or Elk. I mean who wants to see a less than ideal pair of covers on an American Elk handled knife or a not quite perfectly-matching grain on a wood that is naturally stable, rot resistant, and almost as hard as the tools that shape it?

A coarse cloth and resin handled knife would be so perfectly uniform and free of any irregularities. And when we get them all in, there will be the need for only one posted photo!:p:D

Like last years offering? We never saw more than one picture of that did we? Oh wait...

Elk bolsters, ironwood covers, burlap micarta shield. Everyone wins! :D
No you need to switch the Elk and Burlap in that setup

So clearly we need more mammoth

Here I just took a pick of all the current knives again, kinda like a visual aid. :)
