2018 GEC Rendezvous and Picnic!

That's an epic haul, Ron! Take good care of that Emerald Smooth Bone 35 for me. ;) Maybe one day I'll be able to hypnotize you into thinking it would be a good idea to sell it to me. :D:p

Have fun out there, everyone! Take lots of pics! Those less fortunate are loving vicariously through y'all!

Whaler is not my cup of tea, but that shield and using Pine salvaged from a factory with whaling associations is genius  Must be the Capt.Ahab Jack or Moby Dick's Whaler :D:D

Half/Stop Half/Stop Ron, that Emerald 35 is a rare and beautiful gem, so nice of you to think of putting it by for me far away in the Old World ;) ;) :D The shield is just right, best GEC I've seen for a long while:cool:

Thanks, Will

I agree. Passed on these, but that pine with the whale shield looks fantastic.
Nice haul Half/Stop Half/Stop .
Thanks for the pics for us who just have to stare at our computer screens in jealousy.

Not killing me...but setting me alight and driving me to drink :D:D:eek:

Travman Travman TWO WHITE BONE ANCIENTS??? Enough to send me to white headed senility:eek:
 And the Stag on that 26, real rutting season antler!;):D:thumbsup:

Thanks, Will
One of those white bone Barlow’s were bought by my brother-in-law.

The Stag 26 was a Store knife so I’ve already started using it. I think they had a total of 5 of these stag 26 Store knives with the “S” stamped on the secondary blade tang.

I think that “S” is for Superb! That’s a great looking 26! Congrats Travman!

So I was able to get time enough to make the 250 mile trip up to Titusville and visit the rendezvous for the day. Met a couple of real nice BF members while waiting for them to open up, and in the store I purchased a rendezvous whaler and a special construction 26 stag with 2012 blades. out in the front yard was a kindly gentleman looking to unload a few barlows with white smooth bone, I helped him out too. all in all, I would highly recommend the rendezvous.

Those Smooth White Ancients look the best of all Ancients, sigh!;)

The Whaler is so giant it doesn't have a tube but needs a ventilation pipe:D:D:eek::cool:

I stopped in this morning on my way to work around 7:00, and there was already 30+ people in line in the store, out into the entry hall. I spoke with a few gents, and got to see a nice Rendezvous Whaler in person. I'd like to get one of those, but I'm not sure I want to wait in line all night long. I'll leave it to the die-hard collectors :)
