I think this BF knife reminds me of a Northfield version of the Case 11031 SH. I’m voting for a bare end.

I don't know, that might have saved me a lot of anxiety as a teen.Basing this decision on how a dropped knife will fair is much like picking a girlfriend by the way you feel she will handle the breakup.
I've changed my mind with every picture and drawing. I finally went with end cap because I think of this as a working knife and the small amount of extra protection provided by the end cap might be important.
Bare end...this way it’s different from the rest of the 86 production run.
For reference using the given example and NF(ish) bolster...with/without end cap.

Wasn’t there a comment in a recent thread about how there is no such thing as logic when it comes to what should be the right pocket knife?
I like end caps, so whether true or not, when you drop a bare head knife, it always lands on the butt and cracks!
Stop trying to de-rail my logic!![]()
I like your line of thinking. Some of my favorite users are end capped, but voting bare for this one. Hoping for ebony covers and I think it will look good bare. I'm hopeful we end up with a nice shield. I think bare end with ebony covers will make the shield pop. I'm probably wrong and end up with some Frankenstein knife, but hey got to vote for some end result in mind. If we use sawcut covers I think it will look better end capped... but then we lose the shield because sawcut with a shield and end capped looks too busy for me... End ramble![]()
Mainly Bareheads, the Norfolk is a double ended knife so it cannot be Barehead, can be Shadow though
