Ehhh I'm not sure yet, leaning towards bone. I wanna see what kind of jigging can be offered and what kinds of wood could be offered. No synthetic. What covers you voting for? Wood, bone, synthetic?
What about yourself? What covers you voting for? Wood, bone, synthetic?
AgreedPersonally, without specific options, I'm likely to vote for bone, and will be delighted if we can get a random jigging showcased on the Charlie rope knives, and some others.
If we are informed in advance that such jigging is not possible, then wood may have an edge for my vote.
Synthetics are a distant third.
What about yourself?
You’re right. I rest my case.I'm 4/4 on the polls too. I'm voting for wood, so I guess one of us will go down a vote.
It's tough to decide without knowing the specifics. For example, I'm voting wood because I'm hoping for Ebony, but what if wood wins and we end up with Osage Orange. I'd much prefer just about any type of bone over Osage. I think if bone wins we will end up with Sawcut. GEC does a really nice Sawcut bone. I'm tempted by that, but if I vote bone and Jigged wins I'd be disappointed because I have a bunch of Jigged bone GEC already.
I really like the random jigging GEC did on the rope knives a couple years back. If something like that is offered I think it might beat sawcut...maybe. Ebony would be amazing on this knife and I would be good with it. I bet we get iron wood as an option.I'm 4/4 on the polls too. I'm voting for wood, so I guess one of us will go down a vote.

Yeah I'd rather not have iron wood. I think ebony or a nice jigged bone will look best on this knife. I think ebony will win. I just think GEC will offer ironwood and it might have a chance to win just because how popular it's been recently. The Charlie rope knives jigging was the best I've seen from GEC. If I recall a couple other runs were requested to duplicate that jigging and they ended up with standard GEC jigging. It's odd to me that process is so hit or miss. I don't know anything about it. I guess it must be more complicated than I think it would be otherwise they would have it down by now..
Hope we don't end up with ironwood.

I'm also 4/4 and probably voting wood. Bone would be my first choice, but only of the smooth variety. I have exactly two jigged bone knives I carry (cougar clawed Churchill and just arrived barely jigged Pemberton). 90% sure wood won't be jigged.I'm 4/4 on the polls too. I'm voting for wood, so I guess one of us will go down a vote.
