That swell bar is simple, elegant, doesn't overwhelm the knife, and fills the space perfectly.

That's why I think the bar shield works too.

Yes, I like the bar or swell: classy and symmetrical.

I've been thinking about how highly figured wood is a lot like the elk on last year's knife. Each person's knife is unique, and some folk are happier than others with what they get. Usually I think that's pretty cool, but I feel this knife would look right in a very dark wood like ebony or cocobolo. Maybe streaks of brown, but overall dark.

A very well done, deep, random jigged bone could change my mind, though.

There seems to be some kind of trade-off or a balance needed there I believe. You are right with some of the woods or stags/elks that everyone's example is totally unique but that also means some will be happy and some will not. Versus a wood or material that is generally more consistent (like ebony) that may not have the pizzaz of the others but pretty much everyone will be happy with what they get.

I voted for Northfield trim, I was glad to see this this option win.
I voted for standard pull, end capped and polished blade, it doesn't look like
it is headed that way. I actually, am happy that it is shaping up as the majority
is voting. It's going to be a very neat folder.

I'd be on board with the glitter gold...as long as we could get a shield made of ebony or jigged bone....and that shield could be about 3.5" long, and tapering from about .7" to .5" wide...oh, and that shield could be on both sides of the handle.

Are we limited to the standard shields of the past? This knife reminds me of an electricians utility knife. A lighting bolt would be alright with me.

I think stag is an outsider for this one.
I reckon were looking at maybe 3 woods and 3 bones tops with synthetic a rank outsider for choices....Mike has to keep it reasonably simple .
Im tipping...choices of..
A black or dark wood..natural maybe jigged or checkered
A sawcut bone
A jigged bone
A smooth bone

A micarta...

There'll be no fancy schmancy acrylics,mothers of pearl,stag or tusks of any creature.

I really like this mockup. If you gave me an anchor shield and a bail/lanyard tube with this blade and the Jobillo scales I would be one happy camper.
