Without seeing exactly who voted for what, we can't tell if the specific shield votes total higher than the "shield or no shield" tally due to folks incorrectly voting for two specific shields, or simply by not choosing a "shield vs no shield" option.

As I type this there are 299 total votes in the slab poll, and 258 for the specific shield choices of this poll - so it's certainly possible that there are zero to few double votes here.

The slab poll is completely separate from this poll. For this poll each voter gets 2 vote but 1 vote MUST be for "with shield" or "without shield" as of this post the numbers still don't lie. 211 total in the "with/without" column. 260 total shield votes. The total shield votes should at least match the total "with/without" votes and possibly be lower if a "without" voter doesn't use their second vote for a shield option. So right now there are 49 invalid votes.

I wouldn't concede that. Read my last post. 49 invalid votes are on the board and will be wiped away.

EVERYONE needs to check the poll at the top of their screens to see if they have voted in error.

You MUST VOTE for either "Shield" or "No Shield," and then you MAY vote for an individual shield choice. The number of individual shield votes cannot be greater than the total of Shield and No Shield, but may be less if the No Shield voters don't vote for an individual shield.

Let's get this cleared up quickly, so we all know where we stand in the voting . . . please!​

I agree the Orleans shield looks better in the traditional orientation.

I feel the same way. Reversed, it kinda looks like plane flying backwards to me...

I believe Mike said if Orleans were to win there could be another poll for orientation if necessary. Kind of ridiculous if you ask me. I mean if you want a shield upside down be bold and vote for one that'll actually look upside down not the one that's almost symmetrical anyways.

Lets hope you're right and they do get invalidated if not corrected by the casters, but some or all of those could be for other than Orleans shields also.

You can't just arbitrarily take 49 votes off the Orleans total as much as that would please me and a few others.

No doubt. I'm sure they will be corrected if necessary. I don't presume to assume they are all for one particular shield. Just pointing out, like Mike has already done that there are incorrect votes at this point......still.

The shield choice was a difficult one for me. The Federal, Badge, and Bomb shields are amongst my very favorites and I feel that GEC never uses them enough.

That said, I was sold on the Banner shield ever since I saw Darren's first mockup with it. I feel it suits the knife incredibly well and so that is how I voted.

If there is some momentum gained with the Bomb shield, I might be inclined to join the fray. The Orleans shield is not unattractive but I will say I am a bit surprised that it is the front runner.

My sentiments exactly. The Orleans shield is very nice looking, but it just doesn't fit the profile of the knife well in either direction. I feel like we're taking a great shield, and trying to shoehorn it into a place it doesn't quite belong.

We need to look at the shape of this knife, and learn from how it's been done successfully in previous history.

The appeal of the Orleans kinda wore off on me so I switched back to bomb. It looks “tougher” and fits well with a hard working knife.

This is the reason I switched my vote, I fear the backwards Orleans.

I voted for Propeller because they won't mess up the size or orientation.

I certainly won't make any guarantees, but I don't think adjusting the banner size would be an issue. They've done it with other shields in the past. Not trying to change your mind though.

I wonder if we could get word on whether any of these shields could/could not be adjusted to fit?

I changed my vote from banner, just because it seemed like a longshot, but will gladly switch back if it gains momentum.

Banner, propeller, Orleans, bomb would all look good on this one though.
