I just think Todioute is a cleaner look. But I'm clearly spitting in the wind.

I’m a fan of simple knives, working knives from the early 1900’s were elegant but had a clean look. Leave the embellished knives to lobster or multiblade patterns.

I agree that less is more sometimes. However, my want for a longpull trumps that this time.

I guess they don't want to make long pulls on Tidioutes, but that doesn't mean they couldn't (or haven't). I just don't care for match strike pulls on a working pattern, or lined bolsters, or blade etches....simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.

Those two show your point well. I agree with you.
Nice to see the rare Cocobolo boys knife. What a beauty!

Do both of these "simple" knives have long pulls and cut swedges?

Yessir they do. The photo or the 15 does not illustrate it very well...here's a better photo.

That's a really nice looking knife and just goes to show that "simple and plain" can look classy.

Too bad the members got no say in the blade type/grind for this year's BF knife but @knifewapper and Bill Howard were "hell bent for leather" that it be a sheepfoot blade and that the sheepfoot blade be saber ground.

Although I prefer satin finish for my users, I think with this being a new pattern Northfield trim would be so apropos

It's certainly not everyone's cup of tea but I like the blade and pattern size. With the 97's coming out soon we will get an idea of GEC's execution of the grind. I reserved an ebony in NF trim for my son, he's a big fan of large coke bottle patterns.

I think we are way beyond arguing that point. That ship has sailed and already entering it's next port of call. To continue to yell after the ship from the shoreline is of no use to anybody and you're only entertaining the seagulls.

Nobody's arguing anything - just stating a fact. And nobody's yelling - just calmly stating a fact. You think I'm the only one that thinks as I do - just go back and check Al's posts and others.

Just saying. I'll put it to rest from now on.

That’s a beautiful knife—what year is it from?

On every example I’ve seen from last year’s run the long pull cut extended back beyond the plunge line. It doesn’t affect function in the slightest, but it just looks *wrong*. I guess that makes me shallow.:)

We have had a poll choosing a maker. GEC's submission was pictured as a Saber Sheepfoot. It was chosen. That thread is closed.

This thread is for the Trim of the knife. Trim which is currently going nearly as JB has pictured except for one line on a bolster.

It would be appreciated if discussion would be limited to the respective polling information.
