2019 GEC 86 Oil Field Jack and Forum Knife Picture Thread

If I complained, show me a quote. I think you may define complaining A LOT differently than I do. As far as Case goes.... I chuckle at your statement because the last new Case I bought was a couple years ago, a stag peanut. I have little interest in new Case knives and the Peanut was an exception and an impulse buy at a store.

I do want something that stays in stock "until I stumble across it". I am not kidding at all about 100 knives..... how many do you think Barry normally sells in a week?

"I was real interested in the Bloodwood #86. As soon as I saw the picture of the knife, I looked at Barry's site... It appears to be sold out. I give up. Not playing this game any more."

You know every run are limited numbers from GEC, and SFOs are extremely limited. So if you "really wanted one" you would have been paying attention and signed up for email alerts like everyone else that really wanted and got one did.
If you want him to get larger SFOs youll have to talk to him.

I'm signed up on several dealers email lists, pay attention to future production as well as whats being produced and shown in pictures every day, and I haven't missed out on one knife I wanted all year. I even had 4 93's which was probably the most popular I've seen in some time.

No games, just sign up for alerts and check your email. Call and talk to the dealers and find out when they plan to post them. It's really not that difficult.

There are thousands of people that want GECS on every run, only hundreds are made to maintain quality. I'm thrilled that they keep their production numbers down so they aren't making less quality or pieces of junk like several others. Yep they are desirable, but if you pay attention you should be able to get one, if not, well....

Boxer .45 Boxer .45 I still don't see a complaint. Not trying to split hairs. But I think any comment that is not cheering GEC or it's dealers is a complaint to you. That particular 86 was simply not available to me. Life goes on. I have zero interest watching the exchange for one to pop up later.

Generally speaking I am not interested in every new GEC release. I can appreciate quality and I understand perfectly about SFO's. I am going to be watching for the jigged bone versions coming out as ultimately I am happier with them and I really don't want the wrench shield.

I think 100's are made because of GEC's production capacity. That is okay as far as I'm concerned. I am not looking for exclusivity, only a good knife that I like.

Half the orders are out today, the rest on Monday 'cuz I just couldn't get 'em done, but they are pretty sweet!

This is the only "S" model in the lot, and it goes into MY pocket! heh, heh.

Yes sir. That is what I was hoping for. Thanks Barry for working hard to get those out to us.

I'm looking forward to seeing photos and hoping there are some exceptional examples.
I contacted you and asked you to put me on a pre-order list for the Charlie #86 Black Jack. You put me on the notification list for the bloodwood and the Charlie #86. I am a dummy , my head hit an oak tree. I aint right , I'm all left ! Baw-ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! I was ready after the notification. I clicked right on after the first try. I am going to love my new Bloodwood #86. I contacted all of the Knife Forums and FaceBook slipjoint groups to "HEADS UP !" everybody. Gone in one hour and six minutes. I had a blast last night. Thank you so very much , Mr. Barry ! "GREAT EASTERN CUTLERY KNIFE COLLECTING IS WAR !"

What kind of a pull are you seeing on your 86's?

I'm not schooled on guessing by numbers, but to me it is a nice average pull..... I'm old with arthritis everywhere and I can open them fine... I think the action is very nice; hitting on all 8 cylinders...

By the way guys, if I could've had more than 100 made I surely would have, and I asked, but it was not to be. !00 is all they would build....:(:(:(:(:(:(
That makes them even more desirable and there already beautiful Barry !
Sadly I missed out and clicked a little to late :(

In my pull rating system, it comes in as just right. Seriously. Very much in there with the 29s and 92s. Firm but not hard. Easy on the nails but with plenty of tension. Good snap into half stops, open and close. I’m hoping Great Eastern Cutlery keeps their future builds just like these.
