2019 GEC 92 Eureka Jack

Well, I said I was done for the year after the 77s. I told my wife no more knives (this year). Then the email came and I did what any good addict would do... (sigh)... then this showed up on Thursday.

Beautifully matched stag, nice mark side texture, all pins are sunken... but the pile side had me at hello! Absolutely gorgeous knife.

This 92 camel bone is such a beautiful knife. What a great job GEC did simply amazing they didn’t miss a lick on this one even the shield is flush a long with the bolsters transitions not a sharp edge anywhere except for the blades lol and there even some of the sharpest from Gec I’ve ever had . Here’s a natural lighting shot in the day.

One of the nicest I've seen! Love the contrast between the bright white and the dark texture.

I have one stag out for delivery, but I don't know what it will look like. And then I just got a email about them being in stock somewhere that I could pick it out. So of course I bought a second. Purposely got one with a hump on the pile side that I hope will feel good for grip. We'll see.

The burlap micarta SFO's are showing available...

Anyone picking one up?

I think I'm holding funds for the upcoming #86's...

Love the wrench shields on those!
I think those Burlap micarta #92s are in Germany now. The GEC #86 natural micarta Oil Jacks will be coming soon. You can buy Fiebing's leather dye (Evil-bay) and pop it any color that you want. I popped my #93 micarta with Fiebing's navy blue and I have a midnight blue/black micarta #93 knife now. A little blue comes off in my hand , but that will stop soon. I just wash my hand with liquid Dial soap to easily fix that. The more blue that comes off leaves a natural micarta patina underneath. You got to take a leap of faith on this one , so happy that I did.

Sounds nice...

Love the darker shades of blue.

If you happen to post a picture of it sometime soon be sure and tag me so I can drool over it!

;)

When you have the chance to get great stag....you need to act. :) I'm sure your wife understands that as well as anyone. :D

She said it looked just like my 301 forum knife from last year! Lol, it's all good, she really doesn't care. But I will certainly let her know you have my back on this!

cigarrodog cigarrodog Thats some really nice stag! I think you might be in luck the Fissures you mentioned looks like it might just be characteristics of that stag
Beautiful Stag almost looks like mammoth
Love the Carmel color to!

Just received. More of a popcorn stag wth some crevasses. A lot of character. It has a couple of fissures on one side, which I will exam more closely. I really do like this one. It seems different than the others I’ve seen. I like that.:)

Nice one, Harvey! I'm always amazed at the differences in stag from one knife to the next. Interesting fissures on the pile side, they look really cool, hopefully they're just skin deep cause they add some great character!

Harvey, those fissures are normal for stag like that, you got a beauty of a knife, great color and texture.

Thank you kindly. Big fan of your 92 Camel Bone.

A akaMatt - Thank you kindly, Matt. Buying Stag sight unseen is a matter of both fate and faith. Credit must be given to Mike. He allowed preference requests if possible.

black mamba black mamba - Thank you kindly Jeff.

Augie Augie - Thank you Augie. I was thinking that, but wanted to submit that concern to the more knowledgeable and experienced hands. Your 92 is exceptional.

I generally like much lighter versions, but this one has great character. I'd be happy to receive one like that.

I can't over-emphasize how happy I am with my camel Eureka. The action is a bit lighter than my other example, but her show-side cover makes up for that. :)

That is sweet! First one I've seen that I like more than the one I got.
