2019 GEC Pemberton Thread

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I had decided to pass on this run. I already have more than enough smallish knives, and while I love sheepsfoot blades, I’m not a fan of Wharncliffes, as their aesthetics don’t appeal to me, and their tips seem too fragile. But with DLT “rewards dollars” burning a hole in my virtual pocket I succumbed to temptation.

After receiving it yesterday I decided to put the Pemberton through its paces, and I’ve already decided it’s going to be a keeper. It may be tiny, and it may be pretty, but it gets the job done.

I don't know how I didn't catch this in the production photos! They made a small number of the 2-blade white bones with smooth bolsters instead of pinched/lined. Mike @ CK offered either version. Happy to have a factory fluke :thumbsup::thumbsup:

I like the smooth bolsters and that's what I ordered. Here's to hoping for snappier springs on this then my single blade.

I still went with the lined, because it looks better to me. But for those that prefer smooth or want the rarity it's a pretty cool surprise option. This 2-blade smooth white bone is the one I've really been waiting for on this run.

Super cool. Im not a fan of the Templar trim but really glad to see some more acrylic

Also a red coming out. I noticed GEC had a #6 pemberton dark blue acrylic with a thin red swirl put up on Facebook a couple weeks ago. It was pulled almost instantly, so maybe more acrylics are going to be released.

Caribbean blue acrylic: Gorgeous
Any pattern in Templar trim: Disgusting

What a waste, what a waste.

Dang it!!! Those went quick.
How would we know that? Quantities are unknown.

I'm not sure this trim is for me, but I love that GEC does them. Love the steampunk comment above, too. I think you're on to something, E Elgatodeacero . This could be a whole new demographic for GEC. A picture just needs to get posted in a steampunk group, perhaps. ;)

Cool they are offering a red version too :) Good luck to those seeking one!
