2019 GEC Pemberton Thread

I grabbed a Caribbean blue Templar as somehow my usual EDC load-out has all become light blue over the past year so it'll fit right in.

Congrats, I'm excited to see these floating around.

I have both a blue & a red coming...… I'll get some 8 X 10 glossies posted when they arrive...…. The only 06 I'm missing from the series is the 2 blade micarta...…. I'm thinking I might get one so the series is complete....

Nice, that's awesome to complete a set.

Received my 2 blades last week and am pretty happy with them, the stag has some pop corn to it and nicely matched, the white bone has the plain bolster.

Nice pair :):thumbsup::thumbsup: Great stag on that one and congrats on the smooth bolster...I dig mine and think it is pretty cool to have something slightly unique.

Hey y'all, I'm looking real closely at this release to be my first GEC - love the looks and size of this slicey little guy. As it's my first GEC (danger danger don't get hooked), I was wondering if there is any major difference between the Northfield line and the Tidioute beside the handle material / badge / branding. I mean to ask if the quality of construction is different, do they have a different level of craftsmanship? I'm looking at the bone Northfield vs micarta Tidioute single blade patterns and trying to make up my mind... Any advice would be very welcome. Thanks!

You'll get the same level of craftsmanship on both brands.

Andrew, Railsplitter is correct about the craftsmanship of Northfield vs. Tidioute being the same.
For small knives my preference is Northfield. I think they look better but Micarta may be slightly gripper and more plentiful at dealers. Don't wait to long, they have a way of disappearing suddenly. Just pick your favorite, you should be satisfied with either in quality. Best regards in your selection.

Andrew,

Couple pics of the two you are considering. The bone is classy.

The Tidioutes of this run are more pinchable due to the swedge difference. However, the pull is just right and the fancy / polished Northfield bolsters are sweet.

Don't rule out the stag. Good luck with your decision.
