I know we just scratched the surface of all the great knives produced during 2019, but choosing between them was still a challenge for me.

2- 1 Klein - beautiful profile, copious awesome details
2- 2 Desrosiers - you could paddle a canoe with this, build a cabin and win a sword fight
3- Seward - fantasy meets reality, the theme is apparent but not overpowering
23- Lurquin - this says 'hold me. Chop stuff'
27- Lisch - pierced balls are usually to be avoided, but in this case are welcomed
38- 2 Gregory - that blade shape is accentuated but its futuristic look borrowing from a rich tradition of wrapped handles
44- 2 Lurquin - this says 'hold me. CHOP STUFF YOU PUSSY'

I think this might be the first year I chose 2 knives by the same maker. What can I say? Sam Lurquin is killing it.

Same as it ever was... first 2 - 3 easy... then too many nice knives. I get feeling hard-hearted sometimes, but, in the end, art saves... line, balance, and proportion of the whole... no matter the style variation. I'd love to have all these knives in hand... get to see the details close up. Every once in a while (through the years of this) I see a knife I would like to own. That is, to have in a place where I could look at and handle it whenever. Jackson Rumble's knife fits that. I've never cared for the handling technique... been enamored of it. Still, this knife is just lovely... the whole thing.

1-1 Russ Andrews
2-2 Adam Desrosiers
27-2 Butch Deveraux
32-1 Petr Melicharek
44-1 Jerry Fisk
52-1 Jackson Rumble
58-1 Matt Parkinson

Note that for the past FIFTEEN years all my images have the maker's name, then the captured date in the filename. Review my folder and my website. Now you know.

Thank you Roger! What an opportunity. Now to spend 30 mins studying selections. :)

Sorry, Coop, that wasn't directed at you at all and I really should've clarified that. You have a great system going on your site which has been very helpful in referencing when the photos were taken, and I've browsed through them numerous times throughout the years as well. The reason I said "all" was because I just didn't want to single anybody out, but in doing so I ended up inadvertently lumping you in as well. I think your way of organization is the standard to match. Thanks for your all hard work!

I could never presume to pick a "best" among so many magnificent works, with so many different types of excellent craftsmanship. So I'll just pick the ones I would most like to own because their particular styles call to me:

1-1 Russ Andrews - that Damascus! That stag!
2-2 DeRosiers/Lorien - such beautiful simplicity
3-1 Ben Seward - Holy crap. Amazing.
27-3 Mave Vitale - "eet weel keeeel!"
36-3 Kyle Royer - I weep at the sheer beauty of it
44-2 Sam Lurquin - is that even a bowie? Who cares!
48-1 Josh Fisher - damn. Just damn.
