2020 GEC #23 Trapper Thread

I've been thinking about these for a while and I'm still unsure which one (or two) of these I'd like to get. It will be cool to have a 2020 #23 to go with my Schrade/GEC Fire & Ice #23.

I think all of these 23’s will fly off the rack due to pent up demand for GEC product.

I hope they didn’t forget how to make knives...........

I suspect there will be quite a few F&F's shipped out almost immediately... it looks like the orange delrins were almost finished, before the lockdown (BL), and the red/blacks still need to be shipped...
It also looked like they were getting pretty close on some of the 23's BL, as well....

I was looking forward to the hounds tooth on that micarta but the badge looks nice too. Regardless I’m really excited to start seeing updates from GEC again.

New etch? This preview looks nice imho

We live in some crazy times right now. Most people don't have extra knife money coming in. Some reserves should fall short. Food , bills , and taxes come first. The price of knives will be going up, due to inflation. The government is over reacting and spending too much money. This is just the beginning of government take over. Our founding fathers would be shooting guns , right now. I am expecting 8 or 9 GEC#23 Trappers added to my collection. It will most likely be a month before we start seeing #23s. I got some SFO two blades and a bunch of single blades to buy. I want to see some new production drawings. I want to know what is next.

I now have 2 of the new #23's reserved . Both are single blade Northfields .

I was shocked when I spotted two brown colors for the Northfield #23 knives. The GEC#23 brown jigged bone caught my attention. Last year Bill Howard discovered a better brown bone color. It started with very dark chocolate jigged bone scales on the production line. That SFO Chocolate Almond peach-seed jigged bone GEC#86 knife was the killer. I ended up with a light one and a dark "user" one. Those dark Chocolate jigged bone scales were not appealing at all. It was real easy reserving that knife. JSR posted that knife four times over a month, after they arrived. If we spot ugly super dark chocolate brown jigged bone scales , don't despair. "Good News !" Chocolate Almond Peach-seed jigged bone is the best brown scale color ever ! That knife was selling slow at first , the soft lighter colored Chocolate almond #86 knives are fetching crazy prices already. This #23 run is going to be wonderful.
