2020 GEC #33 Conductor Thread

Does anyone have a 68 White Owl they could compare this to? I don't know if it's just my eyes but it looks an awful lot like the clip-point White Owl that was run many years ago.

Sandmage Sandmage Fine Ivory Bone example, a very nice one.

The White Owl is of course cigar shaped Equal End pattern having a broad frame/blade whereas the Conductor is Swell Centre.

Your shot well illustrates the generous blade length the 33 offers, many are now enjoying this feat of single-spring construction

I received my second stag 33 yesterday and have found the fit and finish to be excellent on both. Both have some very nice and unique stag, but I think the jigged bone version might be my one keeper from this run. I'll try to get a few side by side shots later today.

Received mine today, and the sides match perfect. Although much smaller, it’s going to give the 44’s I’ve been rotating out a break for a little while.

View attachment 1405474 68 vs 33. 33 is a little shorter overall, but blades are the same length. Noticeably slimmer though. Both are great patterns in my book.
Thank you, Sandmage. Too cool for school. So it's a little more dainty than I thought.
Beautiful 68 you have there. I've been itching for a clip point White Owl ever since they came out. I bought the spear bladed version at release, and thought it would be silly to have both.
By pure luck I have a stag 33 on the way and am very much looking forward to it after this thread.

Guess I am late to the game. I have a jig bone and a couple of stag 33's coming soon. These are nice but the whittlers and the ones with bails will always be my preference.

I guess the grass is always greener HotGuts. I'd love to get a spear 68! Glad you were able to score a 33. I've got a couple coming my way as well.

Well, my order arrived super fast! I knew I wouldn't have a lot of time to thoroughly examine the pics of the stag knives, so as soon as I saw one that I thought looked pretty good I went for it. The pile side cover isn't as nice as the mark side and is quite a bit darker, but at least they're pretty close in pattern and thickness. And the construction is spot on.

Arrived today
Overall , a very well made little knife . Opening it is smooth , blades do not touch the liners , very clean inside and out , transition of the Stag to the bolsters is well done , bolster dimples are all uniform , if I am careful opening the Pen Blade it does not touch the main blade . The Stag is only average . I do not like the Surface of the Stag at all . It appears that they have applied some sealer material . Spring is flush when either blade is opened . Another GEC Northfield in Stag that I am very happy to have .

With my other one .

I am definitely going to have to work on the grit in the Tidioute knife, though. From the pics I'm seeing here and other places I'm wondering if there isn't a "new guy" assembling some of the knives.

That’s incredible! Looks like it got dropped into bucket of roofing tar.
