Spending time with my pocket carver either way is time well spent.
 
Although all of the scales were nice, I'm surprised nobody redid any to something else. We usually see one or two.
 
I missed the boat on the shadow red F&F Carvers and needed to fill the void left inside me. Luckily plenty of Cocobolo’s are still available and this one is mine. Don’t care for the zebra stripe cocobolo that seems prevalent but this one isn’t that, it’s lighter in hue with looser lines, I like it! So much in fact, the white bone I still haven’t used just found itself an official safe queen.

I always have the same reservation about ordering anything in cocobolo, I just don't care for the distinct and linear grain differences in it. The one you received looks amazing, and I'd be thrilled with that one. I was really looking forward to one of the F&F natural micarta ones, but I did manage to grab one of the black and red ones, when they dropped. I'm saving it for trading fodder, in case I miss the natural canvass ones. ;) I have the SMKW 62 which is that natural canvas micarta, and that's been in my pocket since the day I received it.

I don't know either way for sure, but you may not have completely missed the black and red ones though, they may still have some more coming when they open back up.
 
They had just begun sending them to dealers when the shut down order happened. I believe GEC was going to make a bunch of each of the F&F's... maybe 600 of each? Someone posted that number a while back in this thread. Just guessing, I'd say that GEC got fewer than 100 sent out before the shut down. So, yes... there are quite a few left.

and, it looks like the orange delrin will be next out the door.... cue Carly Simon..... "Antici-pay-yay-shun"
 
I thought it was 600 of the Tidioutes and 200 of the F&F per cover. I reserve the right to be totally wrong though.

Hey, don't be depending on my 65 yr old memory.... That's probably right, more of the Tidioutes... either way, there should be quite a few more red/black carvers ready to be shipped... and then there's still the natural and muslin micartas, along with the orange...
