2020 is coming...

Got it yesterday! Being used to carrying a Grik, this thing is laughable to me, but so cool too! And that S/N tho!

One thing I noticed right off the bat is that the liner lock is very difficult to disengage. It is knurled, but doesn't provide much traction, so I basically have to stick the tip of my index finger through the thumstud cutout, and push the lock over that way, but it is still difficult.

Today I finally got mine. I'm very happy with it, and it's #63. The blade is 440C steel, and my older 6" Zy-Ex handled Ti-Lite's blade steel is AUS 8A. The new limited run knife will live in the safe, and the older model is a self-defense carry knife. Hopefully neither of them will see any blade use, but I'm wondering which is the better steel.

Both knives are somewhat fussy to close due to the mentioned locks, but they both disengage with a focused effort. They appear to have solid lockups. I like the Ti-Lite design, and I just had to have the Kris when it came out, although it seems a shame to relegate it to a collectable safe queen. After all, who am I saving it for?

Got the scalper. Just AWESOME! Got eveything I wanted so far except the Woodman's Sax. When is it available? Dont make us wait 6 months....

Nice! It shouldn't be six months but these things take time. I have no ETA. We're WAY ahead of the curve this year, considering we had 2020 stuff ready in November and a lot of it in January. Should be much faster this year, we have been starting production on things essentially a year early.
When will the sr-1 lites become available?
Hoping end of this month or next.

It's in my top 3 offerings for this year. I'm a huge fan of this style of knife. It's thick, strong and innovative in terms of the lock (backlock/linerlock combo). I used to carry the Buck 110 on my belt before I deemed it too sentimental to continue carrying (grandfathers knife). This will happily replace it in my EDC. The belt sheath is a great color and good materials, it's not too light nor too heavy. It's a knife that will be passed down through generations as the Buck 110, totally classic and timeless. The metal is beautifully polished and finished, the scales are comfortable, lock is easy to use. I have horses and prefer this style of knife when working at the barn, keeps the pockets free and comfortable and easily accessible on the belt, right next to the Leatherman. You immediately notice the old school rancher vibe, kind of cool.

Here's a little teaser.

Thanks for the quick reply. The weight hang test on these is insane. I work in the oil business and get all kind of nasty crap all over everything, this one looks to be a perfect work knife/beater/abuser. I wonder how it will stack up against my ol trusty tanto voyager.

I experienced a first with the new kris Thompson Ti Lite. The blade was off center and I couldn't get it to center with the usual wedging of the blade and retightening of body screws. I also tried messing with the washers. Nothing helped. The blade would only center with the pivot screw loose enough that there was significant blade play. Then I looked more closely at the liners and saw that the non-locking liner was warped. The bend was just beneath the pivot hole. I clamped it and was able to straighten the liner. That fixed the blade centering.

Just watched a vid of the new 1911 folder and noticed that the scales have a smooth section under the clip. Nice job Cold Steel. Thanks for listening.

Ok now I have the 4 Max Scout, kiradashi & Ranch Boss 2 on my radar. Cold Steel really has a great line up for 2020.
