I really like that darker stag, looks great to me!
Now that these have all (finally) reached their destinations, I thought I’d post this group shot that I took back in November.
I agree with some others here Ken, I think the dark stag looks really nice, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You do you buddy.Got my second GEC 68 stag...I like it but I like my previous version better for some reason...

Trying to decide if blade rub will bother me. Does that last for the life of the knife?Mine came today and I believe they deserve a separate thread. Like others I’ve wanted an White Owl for a long time. Imho this one does not disappoint. Fit and finish is typical GEC quality and the Cowhide Jigged Bone is beautiful. Both blades are nice and snappy and centered. Pull is a little stronger than the blades on my Pony Jack. I noticed on pics on a different thread there is a little blade rub at the tip of the clip on one side. Mine does as well. No big deal to me.

Is blade rub a big deal. Seems like this run has it a lot. Does that get better or worse with time. I like the knife just deciding if should pull the trigger for first keeper GEC. Sent the 71 packing. Pull was too frustrating for me.View attachment 1684694View attachment 1684693View attachment 1684692
Well, I have finally bagged the elusive White Owl. It is a pattern that has intrigued me from the beginning. I have always been drawn to Winterbottom Jigged Bone, so this was an easy choice for me. Plus, I just cannot abide by Stag minus the shield. (I do realize that many of you prefer unblemished Stag, and I can understand why. It is just not for me.)
The White Owl is a nice size, not too small. It fits in there with the 15’s, 25’s, and 83’s. I will not carry anything smaller than those. They are handy when you are going to the office, church, or wearing shorts. In other words, anytime a larger knife would not be preferred. I am glad this run does not have a bail. I believe a bail would annoy me on a small knife like this with a blade on the same end as the bail.
Single spring equal end knives without half stops are a favorite of mine. The Churchill 35 is one of the all time greats. The White Owl compliments it well. However, I much prefer the Churchill.
Thanks, @mcc850 , you should be able to find a Churchill. They are not cheap on the secondary market, but they have not reached the stupid level yet. I will keep an eye out for you. You are correct, the Churchill's coping blade and slightly larger size make it perfect!
Thanks @JohnDF !
untytled , you nailed it. Nothing is better than a coping secondary in my opinion. I usually steer away from pen blades, but I could not resist the opportunity to get a White Owl.
@Rhinofly , the White Owl is a rare knife that a lot of people have been hunting for quite a while.

The blade rub is purely cosmetic.... Doesn't adversely affect the knife usage..Is blade rub a big deal. Seems like this run has it a lot. Does that get better or worse with time. I like the knife just deciding if should pull the trigger for first keeper GEC. Sent the 71 packing. Pull was too frustrating for me.

I’d be happy with that price, and blade rub is pretty normal on these from what I’ve seen. Sounds like both sides got a fair deal.Is $135 a fair price knowing it has blade rub on the tip of main
