It was on my long list and never got to it 😁
But all kidding aside what a beautiful knife and pattern ! Love every one posted here 👍🏻
If you had picked one up Ed I’m sure it would have been a favorite! 🤣🤣🤣
Sorry buddy, I couldn’t pass it up. You’re probably singing “La La La” with your hands over your ears anyway so…😉👍

Your half right It’s my new favorite that I didn’t pick up 😁

Look what I received  Unexpectedly and to my great delight I opened a mail package from the mysterious benefactor GG to find this lovely gift. (Knife not the pouch.)

BIG EDIT - The mystery is solved. This knife was sent to me because I am now asked to send it to a friend in France who bought this on the exchange. He forgot to tell me. I thought I was getting a present.

I thank you all for sharing my enthusiasm for this great little folder and if you liked my receiving a gift - never mind - but thanks for the LIKE.

My White Owl came in today! As a fan of gnarly stag, I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed when I first saw the handles. They have grown on me, though. I like the creamy color typical of Sambar, they are thin and well matched, and they are nicely polished (there is actually a flat on both sides; you can see it pretty well in the pile side photo). I think I would have preferred if the two little "gnarls" weren't there and it was just polished stag. All or nothing, I guess!

The fit and finish is pretty good. Zero gaps and everything is flush. Nice action, although a tiny bit gritty on the pen blade. I have yet to flush it, though, so hopefully that will fix itself. There is a slight rub mark on both blades, as others have noted, but I expect that a little on the single spring. The pen blade tip is somewhat proud, but that should also be fixable.

I love the pattern and size. I am definitely going to try to find one of the stainless GEC models released in January 2013. I am also amazed that I received it over here in Europe only a couple of weeks after they started showing up in the US. Usually, I am resurrecting a thread on the fourth or fifth page of the Porch by the time I get mine! I even got it in time to use the waning embers of daylight for a photo or two.

GEC probably could have split this stag up like they did with the well done and rare Angus Jack, and had a textured and smooth stag offering. Individuals would have had a better idea of what they were getting, and I do think a lot of the smoother stag looks great.
