Plausible conclusion to think that the date stamp was struck separately. Definitely looks to be a bit different in depth and clarity even now that I go back and look at it. I like it. Adds to the story of the knife and I love that it would mean that the knife had one more step of hand made American love put into it.

It is an interesting mystery. I found one production photo that makes the stamps look similar to the depth of the GEC Carbon stamp. So I wonder if they replaced a date stamp mid way or something?

I’m still waiting for mine, and it looks like that’ll be at least a couple days. I’m sure most of us struggled with having a choice to make on which covers. I hope that those who have gotten theirs so far are happy with no regrets on the choice made
