was this included in the tube?
Look close in the tube. Mine did have the certificate, hiding along the cardboard of the tube.It wasn’t, but would have really cool if it did
No such luck for me, just checked. Congrats on yours!Look close in the tube. Mine did have the certificate, hiding along the cardboard of the tube.
No certificate for me eitherNo such luck for me, just checked. Congrats on yours!
My only complaint is the blade is too clean. I shall fix that in due timeReally wonderful acquisition, only downside is balancing the desire to pocket with impulse to store away...

My Stag arrived today and I have to say, it doesn't really win any beauty contests (I think I may have let my hopes get a little too high - it happens). That said though, it has color and it has texture, it is also quite comfortable in the hand - which is pretty much all I ask for in Stag.

You would be hard pressed to find someone that doesn’t approve. Both the carving and the knife are superb. Bet you are enjoying that new knife!Barlow the Bear approves.

I get it- I feel the same about my stag. I don’t even want to post it after seeing some of these perfect ones on here. If it makes you feel any better yours looks great compared to mine!
Stag, especially when you are unable to pick out your own, is like the proverbial box of chocolates - you really never know what you will get. I do like that element of surprise and anticipation - it does serve to salve any disappointment I might experience when opening up that tube.
I've gotten quite the gamut from Mike over the years - I've received some rather stellar examples, some fair to middlin' ones, some downright weird specimens, and in one case, a rather ugly one.
These pictures are but a small sampling but here is a few that are at the top of my list. This is ultimately how I like my Stag - dark, gnarly, and full of craggy character.

Fair to middlin' - these fall in that range where they don't win any beauty contests but they aren't unattractive and they definitely would be ones I'd be more inclined to pocket and use.

I find these straight up weird but they are fun and I love the quirkiness of them.

This one is rather ugly, in my opinion, (mostly due to its lack of texture) and I ended up moving it along awhile back - somewhat to my regret though, it would have made a great user.
