2022 GEC #36 ElephantToenail/Elephant Toe/Sunfish Thread

I am generally a fan of more traditional shield variants but I don't hate the elephant shield. GEC has a history of applying interesting shields on these broad knives - wrenches, pipe wrenches, and saws on the 45s and a big ol' whale on the 46 (which was a Rendezvous knife if memory serves).

It's nice to see GEC doing something tastefully unique - though I am a bit more weirded out by the bareheaded configuration.

I'm not big on gimmicky shields but I think the Elephant fits this one well.

Yep, I inquired about the bone being from India too. So actually cows are sacred in India and that bone is protected. Ironically, bulls are not sacred or protected. According to the distributor, it's bull bone from india.

You'd think we'd have plenty of shin bone here, but maybe the color is different?

How interesting, I had no idea. Thanks for the info. :)

That ebony is looking even nicer than I expected… But man, that smooth white bone is calling me. I bet r8shell r8shell could do some awesome scrimshaw work on a canvas that large!

Silly me for thinking I could navigate the modern GEC lolly scramble. I couldn't even figure out where to look to buy one! You know what, that's okay. I should save my money anyway.
