You speak the truth. Got mine last week. I have lots of GECs that live in the Tube but my 88 is going to get some use. Really useful blades. This one of the coolest (ha) GEC knives I've ever purchased. I'm really happy with the 88 yeti example I got. Strong pulls, snappy action, and great covers. I love that I didn't get solid white covers. Mine have a sort of "snow blowing across the ground" look to them which fits well with the theme of knife. This is also my first ever lambsfoot blade. I have to say that it's my favorite utility blade shape now.

Absolutely beautiful, congrats. This is the nicest I have seen yet.
Where’s the freebie that comes with the magnet?I got a new magnet today.

38.34 at one supplier. Enough to buy a whole knife of less popular repute. How much more are the ironwood 88’s vs. the black micarta 88’s?
Nice of them to include that in the bottom of the tube. I wish more magnet craftsmen would think to include knives with your purchase. This was in the bottom of the tube. I didn't go for the basic ironwood version, however if it is half as nice as this one it will be one fine knife.

Recency bias in full affect.Whelp...I had a chance to choose which one to purchase. I waffled for a while between the Ace in black micarta: very cool spade shield and elegant, understated dark covers...or The Bayou Trapper, with its ridiculous gator shield, ugly etch, and garish green bone.
Yep, I went with the Gator. What's life without whimsy?
Nice! I wonder if the difference in weight between bone and acrylic is noticeable. Would you say that the bone version is literally heavier?Recency bias in full affect.
However, I have held both Tidioute versions and now the bone. I think you will be happy with your decision. The Ace and the Yeti are really nice with super fit and finish. The Bayou just feels a bit nicer, more solid if you will. I let both of the others go banking on this one and no regrets.
It "feels" heavier. However I do not have a scale to precisely measure it.Nice! I wonder if the difference in weight between bone and acrylic is noticeable. Would you say that the bone version is literally heavier?
Are the 'ace' and spade shield in reference to anything other than cards? Is there any significance to the 88? I tried looking through the thread but didn't see anything on this — sorry if I missed it.This is a great all around pattern for me. I like that the secondary is very easy to access even with main blade closed.
Excellent finish, very nice walk and talk. Another winner from GEC.
