2022 GEC Bayou Trapper #88 Thread

This 88 has quickly become the heavy favorite for Charlie's next top knife of the year thread for me. My only regret was not being able to get 2 in order to do a blade delete on one of them to make a sowbelly lambsfoot. The photos I've seen for members that pulled that off I'm very jealous of.

The 2022 Rendezvous knife: Diamond King Acrylic 88. Bill Howard said that if you pair this one with the Spade shield/Black Linen Micarta 88 Ace version you then have the winning Black Jack hand of 21.

Thought everyone would find this lighter swamp gator cool. It really looks like something that came out of the swamp. I much prefer my darker one so it has since moved on to a gentleman who was in search of a lighter one but it was cool nonetheless

Finished up my chores when we got home today so, I put the Buck away and broke out the Ace for the rest of the day. It's really starting to show it's honest wear - scratched up bolsters and shield and some garlic stuffed green olive, pickled okra, and pork slicing. A real difference with the added use of it from the picture just above this post.

Hey guys, I’m back, any info on the 2022 knife would be appreciated I’ve got everyone so far. Do to a bad year health wise I haven’t been able to spend as much time here as I’d like to. Any links to sign up threads or commitment threads would be appreciated you can email tederdelyi@gmail.com or message me on Facebook so I don’t miss this one and I can keep the legacy going as the unofficial historian of the BFC thaditional forum’s annual knife.

Thanks again and I hope to be a more frequent contributor to BFC. I’d love to get back to my former level of contributions. First thing is to get my health better then ease my way back into the fold. :)

Bill Howard’s first Sowbelly was this 1987 Winchester produced at the Queen factory. I really like the shape of the clip point on the Winchester. In this picture they’re knives look about the same size, but the GEC version is noticeably larger.

Jigging on the Winchester is spectacular, much better than the 88 green bone in my opinion.
