The gator is my favorite, although that beaver looks great too.

I like em all. I don't have the Yeti because I don't care for the maintenance required for acrylic yet the Yeti is very nice.

I like that ironwood cover, looks like tiger striping or some big cat‘s fur. I have the ACE cover, so partial to it as well!

Sorry for the late reply. It's not that much work required - for me anyway, it takes a bit of extra effort/buffing to get the acrylic scratch free.

Ironwood fresh and Ironwood been at sea awhile....which i had at hand to flense open the package....

Finally got mine in after it was held at customs, very pleased with the grain. The desert ironwood is would have been my choice of the run so I'm glad I was able to get one.

Cheers Ed...the Ironwoods are the pick of the litter IMHO...the Gators are superb too but I would need to dig up some more buried treasure to get one...lets wait and see what "The Admiralty" put in the dockyard next.....

Posted elsewhere in the forum this weekend, but wanted to add here too. Far more likely to encounter bears than gators in this water.

The Ironwood’s are incredible, there’s no doubt about that. But IMO these two are the real winners of this run. There are no losers but I’m very happy with these two. Admittedly I like this pattern much more than I thought I would and I’m just grateful to have these two in my collection. The gator will become a user eventually. I’ve appreciated all of M modoc ED’s sowbelly knives in the past but I never quite had a temptation for one until this pattern was announced by GEC. As far as a user knife is concerned the pattern felt a little awkward in the beginning but through time and experience I’ve found the best spots to choke up on when holding the knife in hand and it’s become such a great comfortable user

The Sowbelly frame is hard to beat. GEC did a good job representing the basic Sowbelly frame but of course upset the apple cart with the introduction of the Lambfoot blade. Different but pleasing none-the-less. I have three of these GEC Bayou Trappers - Ironwood, Jigged Bone, Black LInen Micarta and like you prefer the two you've posted a picture of.

Maybe Travman will be kind enough to post a picture of the GEC Rendezvous Bayou Trapper later in his thread.
