WellFixall , came home from out of town today and I think I'm joining you in the disappointed club. Can't really put into words. I know its a knife and there's way more important things going on in the world around us, but really makes me want to be done with the collector pieces. Got my 112 Tribute back. I want to be fair, so Buck customer service was excellent in getting back to me after I originally reached out with the issues I had of off centering and rough lock up I described and pictured previously in this thread. They also got it back to me very quickly.
However, when I got it back and looked it over today, I'm just left deflated overall. The lockbar and blade still are not lined up. Better, but for a high dollar collector piece? ...come on!
Also, I don't even know if this is possible, but could the buffing wheel have been used a little too aggressively? The rear bolster are now NOT even! I swear they were when I sent it in. The only original picture is posted earlier in this thread and, unfortunately, is not a great one to see it. I'll try and post it again along with one from today. Just really left shaking my head for the money spent on something I was really excited for...
First shows original rear bolsters before being sent in, second picture shows how it is now. I know the lighting and shadows make it a little difficult, but its the best I could capture. Not hard to see when its in front of me. And the third picture shows the re-aligned lockbar and blade after being sent back in for work.
I’m sorry buddy. Something has definitely changed at Buck imo.
I ended to asking Buck for a refund, but haven’t heard back yet. Honestly, I’m not expecting them to agree to it since I bought it from Larry…. But personally, I don’t think it’s fair for Larry to have to eat shipping charges and whatnot for something that is obviously a Buck Factory issue.
I’m still hoping Jeff makes an appearance in here.
