2022 Lick Creek Barlow #14 thread

Anyone know how many saw cut were made (sorry if I've missed it)?
Seems like they keep popping up everywhere, lol.

TOM IS BACK! and boy am I happy! Thank you waynorth waynorth for the opportunity to own such beautiful knives. The coco on mine is really nice too.

I shouldn’t have done it, but I did pull out this clip point #14 from the earlier run. I was starting to convince myself that the newer ones were the same, but the action is significantly weaker on the new 14 Barlows. I’d rate the new ones at a 4 on my scale and the earlier ones at a 6. I wonder why they changed it?

same, the pull was definitely better on the previous run, its almost too soft on these with some variation.

My dear mother, who has arthritis, very much enjoys the pull on her new barlow. Easy for her to open is good, she is much less likely to cut herself if she doesn't have to force her knife open.

That being said, I prefer the stronger pulls of the previous run.

My 2 blade Northfield 14 from 2018 has about an 8 for a pull compared the 4 of the current run (I have handled 4 examples, all a nice easy 4 pull with good walk and talk). Mom can't really open that one safely at all.

Very happy to have the chance to own these beautiful little knives.

I’ve got two of these Barlows (lick creek sfo and goldenrod) and unfortunately they both have side-to-side blade play.

These are the first GEC’s I’ve gotten that have blade play.

I really like them otherwise so wanted to ask if you all think its worth sending them back to the factory to fix the blade play or if it was you would you just let it be?

If the wobble is bad enough that you notice it and it bothers you, I would send them in for service.

I checked mine and they are solid. I didn't torque down on them real hard tho, they're just little guys after all.

I've had quite a few, the last being the Sheepfoot on my AAPK 86 Barlow.. if you grip the Blade fully opened and give it a Shake.. it Rattles!!

I love that soup bone and one day I will have one... (and if the few and proud that got one ever want to sell please keep me in mind).

I have been out of town, so I am just getting these. The pull is on the lighter side for sure, however it is a boy's knife, therefore it seems appropriate to me. Anyway these beautiful knives will be my daughters Christmas presents this year. Perfect size for a couple of teenage young ladies if you ask me.😉
