2025 77 barlows

That's a nice 81! I've seen an ebony GEC before that blew me away that had dark reds running through it. I know they got slabs on site they get their scales from and am just wonderinf what this run's going to look like since they are specifically calling it out as streaked. I'm personally really hoping to see those dark reds again.

Thanks, the 81's were called out as Streaked Ebony as well .

This one was sold and labeled as “Streaked Ebony,” and was decidedly un-streaky.

The ebony 77 on TKC had a note that said something like "we've received gabon ebony and streaked ebony and will be shipping them our randomly, let us know in the notes if you prefer one over the other."
🤣, there's no way anyone was slowing down enough to put something in the notes. Those bad boys were gone in 60 seconds, just like Eleanor...

Shew, if I liked the big clip on those 81's that ebony is the one I'd get. I love that bar (serpentine?) shield on ebony.

How you find the pull on your 77.

Guess I'll have to ask "my" dealer to check before shipping because if that's the case I'll pass... not gonna pay premium price for a sub-par effort. Hopefully not the case though (waiting for the barlow so maybe they'll adjust?!)!

That's really disappointing, was hoping it would be like the 2017 and 2024 78's or even the 86's,I don't have alot of experience with with owning the 77's but from past revies they seemed they had great walk and talk.

Wow this batch of 77 are stunning, they are going to make alot of people happy.and a pen blade to boot, now wou.d a coping blade. E more to my liking, sure but these can cut crackers in my bed lol.

It is very nice ebony. I was more amused than annoyed that it had been labeled as “streaked ebony.”
Ya it's hard to go wrong with ebony.i think streaked ebony would darken just from use, hand oils, and sunlight light. All the old ebony covers I have are all dark black,I haven't come across an earlier 1920- 1950 ebony that's light, but I'm sure there are alot of members that have alot more knives that could prove me wrong.

I like the 77 pattern besides anything else its perfect for our UK law.

The way the handle flattens out makes the shape look perfect and provides a good grip.

As you know I like to use them, but havent with this one yet no reason just havent.

I think I prefer the wooden version so if anyone wants to do a straight swap I dont even mind a user (in good nick).

Failing that I will start using it... 😊

I’ve also put my name down for the new Gabon ebony version. 😎
