Recent ones actually have much better edge than before, at least on mine examples. By recent I mean starting from 78 and further.None. They have GEC factory edges.

I received the red sawcut today as well and I have to say I am pretty deflated. I waited a looong time to get a 77, being unwilling to pay the secondary prices... The walk and talk on the main is okay (I'd give it a 4 on receipt and a 5 after flushing). The pen is just terrible. Lazy to the half stop; worse still half stop to open (total mush). It really reminds me of my little Case pen knife, which I love for what it is but this is a GEC 77 Barlow for Pete's sake... I've put a fair bit of mineral oil through both and while some improvement I'm just, well, massively disappointed. I know, "boo hoo", but dang...
