2025 first knife purchase?

I’m leaning toward a nice fixed blade by mid-January. Not sure which one yet. Something with a stainless blade. I’ve been looking at everything from the Buck 119 in S35VN to Halfbreed LBK to the Civivi Cloud Peak. And lately I’ve been checking out some custom knives from the makers here on the forums. Awesome stuff 👍
 
Probably whatever strikes my fancy and I talk myself into "needing" ;)
I have been giving the higher end stuff a bit of a pause as justifying a $500+ knife often is getting more difficult as I carry and use everything I purchase.

My guess is I may snag a Cold Steel Talwar within the first couple of days with a gift card...just because. I'm also eyeing a Spyderco Military 2 from my LKS or maybe a Spartan Fixed blade. I'm also really digging the action on the new generation Microtech knives, so I may be looking for something along those lines too.

I don't really have a need for anything right now. I've got some new things to play with for a bit, and I have a birthday coming up in February. On top of that, I am currently lobbying for spring break in Gatlinburg simply to hit up SMKW again :D So I'll have some excuses to get something within the first quarter for sure.

My honest guess: I don't make it more than a couple of days and impulse buy something.
 
I can say with assurance that I'll be buying more of the following in 2025:
- Victorinox SAKs
- Case knives
- Rosecraft knives
- Whatever Les George brings to BLADE in June that catches my eye!
- Various Jesper Voxnaes design folders from a couple different Italian companies (Giantmouse Ace knives are also on my radar).

Anything else is going to depend entirely on whether or not something grabs me, and whether I like the price or not. 🤣

Either way, I'm sure I'll end the year with more knives than I have now. 🤦

Do you have a Fox Suru? If so, thoughts? It’s one of the few left-hand Voxnaes designs. Thanks

I have handled them before, but have to confess that they're a little small for my mitts, though the choils do help a bit in this regard.
 
After picking up my XM-24, I set myself the goal of only buying one knife between October 2024 and August 2025: a Benchmade Mini Bedlam. I think they come out around March.

The best-laid plans and all that, but I've stuck to my guns for the past two months. Every time I see a cool knife I look at my other cool knives and think, "Why would I need that when I have these?" It's a strange feeling, at times. 😂

Yep, I kinda feel this way about my inbound Rosie XL, it's a grail knife for me and I plan to hold off buying more knives for a while, but I've been wrong before!
