Leslie Tomville An interesting question. The arrangement I most favour for a two blade knife is one each end rather than 2 blades same end. Usually, this is a single-spring knife as in this GEC 16 . When having this design, a proud tip on a secondary would annoy me and I'd have to file down the kick to make it right.

So, I regard it as a build fault in assembly (which is easy to fix, but don't overdo it or the spring can become sunk..) . Stockman often have a proud tip but this can't compromise use of the Master blade, can make for a full hand feel though. CASE 18 often have a high rider Sheepfoot and people may lower it to their taste. Not found it very often on other patterns no, all my GEC single spring 2 blade knives are fine- 33, 68, 35, 79, but an early 2011 85 2 blade in Stag has proud secondary- less annoying than on a single-spring knife as the tip is away from you in use.

When the knife is in production/finish it should be checked for flush tips and adjusted accordingly before going out.

Will Power , I have seen it before in a Case Stockman with the Sheepfoot being proud as in the Queen Stockman posted by Jim, Jiki . It doesn’t bother me much when it’s like that Queen Stockman. Having said that, I have a 16 Canoe in bound and will probably lower the pen if it is proud. I agree with you that GEC should have caught this. At least the remedy is simple.

Now it’s perfect after filing the kick on a Spyderco Sharpmaker.

Leslie Tomville Agreed Greg, on a Stock knife it cannot interfere when using it, unless you find the Sheepfoot too high for your taste. On a single-spring it should not be happening at all.

New owners, what is the walk&talk like on these ? I've really liked the action on my GEC single-spring knives, just right
