.22 Pistol Kill- I have to brag

Now THAT'S Gun Control at its best!

Nice shot!

Ahh...one more reason for the gun-fearing sheeple to hate those of us who are actually RESPONSIBLE with our weapons. top nothc:rolleyes:

My thoughts exactly! At my last job there was a person against gun ownership but since I was responcible I could have mine.

Here we see responsible gun use which I rather like. Good Shot by the way and nice upgrades!! I might could do that with my Henry Lever action .22 from 50 yards, not with a pistol though. Thanks for sharing it with us! Where I grew up if you were outside of town you could shoot varmits such as this to protect your live stock, feed or house. To me this is a job well done and ever better because it's with a pistol.

The people on one of the gun forums I frequent love these kinds of posts. Shows the skill and someone using there gun in a good way. :)

Awesome shot. Do any of you fellows eat crow, coyote, or armadillo? I kill all three occasionally and do not eat them. I have been shooting and hunting for well over 50years and am saddened at the attitude displayed by some “purest hunters” that are displayed here. Lighten up-celebrate the skill of a good shot.

Last squirrel that I shot was probably only 10 yards away, but I was using an Astra Cub vest pocket automatic with 2" barrel and standard sights. I was using .22 short hollow points and put it right down with a head shot.

They aren't very tasty so I gave them up for rabbits. I've moved up to a 3-inch barrel S&W 317. I generally go for head shots.

Let's hear it for mouse guns!

BF92, So did you know that the gun fighter Bat Masterson reportedly got his name because he would shoot flying bats with his six shooter?

For once, no I wasn't. This was simply a shot to test 'skill.' It had nothing to do with the practice of gathering food, which is what hunting is all about. As an avid hunter, this kind of stuff riles me up a bit because it simply portrays us as ignorant a$$es who just shoot to shoot. He plainly said it was done on a bet...That's just my .02

Funny that someone who would quote the bible in their sig line would be so hypacritical as to call someone an ass. Read the part about casting the first stone and the other part about judge not...

The guy made a good shot, obviously he practices and hits his target, making him responsible with his weapon. He goes on to state that his buddy will eat the meat of the squirrel and he will use the tail to make flies for fishing. What is irresponsible about any of that. The anti gun nuts will never accept any use of firearms and you sound like you only want to accept certain kinds of fire arm use.

I think you may have meant HYPOcritical, so I will address that word instead. I said it may appear to be an ass. I never called anyone such a name, I stated how it would appear. This is a statement from my experience. I realize that probably should have been mentioned, but I didn't think about it until much later. Also, the part about casting the first stone [John 8] is Christ telling a bunch of religious leaders that, if they had no sin, they could kill a sinner woman. I never judged his actions, but made an assessment of what I have heard about such shots. Ah...the 'judge not, lest ye be judged [Matthew 7].' That would be a great reference, if I had told him that he was going to hell for his actions. Anyone with even remedial knowledge of Scripture would understand that as the meaning of the word "judge."

As far as the part about him using the meat and what-not, that was not in the OP, and is the reason I stated what I did.

I also don't see where you get, without talking to me, what types of gun usage I promote and/or condemn. I think guns are a great invention, and I carry one daily for my job, but they have been misused many times in history. I think that, if he had left the $50 bet part out, it wouldn't have even caught my attention. Yes, it is an impressive shot, but when you throw that in there, GFW's are going to twist it as simply a 'sport shot' for no reason. That is all I was saying, and I said it REPEATEDLY.

Md 25v, who done the work on your gun, a local smith or did you send it away?

All me!!! it was several months in the process and a few times I had to ask for help from the guys at rimfirecentral.com because some of the mods were a bit tricky for an amateur like me. In the end, I have what is for me the perfect hunting pistol for small game as well as one hell of a benchrest pistol.

Everyone please remember: if you read a post you don't agree with, finish reading the thread before you rashly and impulsively reply, because oftentimes problems have already been sorted out and misunderstandings cleared up by the time you get to the end. :rolleyes:As for the religious arguments, this isn't the forum for it. Thanks much.

Oh, and guys, this argument ends now.

No deletion required, Dougo. We don't do that on Bladeforums.

We all get our titties in a wringer. I have done it many times, too. I'm just trying to save yours and slippse's titties from anymore damage, that's all.

Look on the bright side guys, at least we've been spared an 8-word, PETA approved, sermon from Lycosa :D

Back to the topic.

That was a helluva shot:thumbup:... But you sure that wasn't one of those South Florida squirrels, cause those don't move too fast!:D
