#35 Beer and Sausage Bar Tool Knife

A 3 3/4" equal end is nearly the perfect frame to do so many good things with, yet it keeps getting pooped on with wonky ideas. 1st, a harness jack. Then the Calf Pen. Now, this monstrosity.

You will not see a scout knife on this frame any time soon if ever. Even though it is fully designed and ready for manufacture. The 98 camp knife was made instead, the difficulty in manufacturing the 98 has soured Bill on making the 35 scout. A 35 cattle is still in play and the B&S knocked it off the schedule, it's not my company so I can't tell you why other than Bill does what Bill wants.
 
Again it’s a strainer not a comb, hence the name Bar Tool Knife. Just because they are calling it a Beard Refuse Removal Tool doesn’t make it solely for that. How many of us use a pen knife for its intended purpose? I know I don’t have any quills or nibs that need a point put on them.

Again it's a comb that you are going to use (or attempt to use) as a strainer. Just as it is a pen blade that you use elsewhere.

Wait a minute. So the "pen" blade got its name because it was originally designed to make pens out of quills? I never knew that!:eek:

Ah, and a coping blade is a Cut Off Pen blade (COPIng blade). I was amazed when I heard that rhe first time. Imagine back in time when a person, needing the right tool for the job, snapped off the tip of a pen blade.

Well, I'll be danged! I didn't know that either!
 
I'm still curious why they went with a three-pronged "fork". Wouldn't a dual-pronged tool be more useful for spearing olives?

It would, and if it were the Beer & Olive knife it would have been 2 prong. But they changed it to Beer & Sausage at the last minute and put the prong back in.;)
 
I have to admit that there is something about this knife that tickles my fancy. I know I'd never use it however for beer, sausage, or even olives. Maybe spear a pickle in a pinch. The comb... I have no idea what it is to be used for. It is certainly cute and this is a knife for GEC collectors for sure.

Yes.... that is the only reason I want one... just the novelty of it, and the really cool shield. I'm sure I would use it at some point, but I want it "just because".... now that I find it's coming in ebony, I REALLY want that one.
