But then people wouldn't talk about it for a year in advance of its release. This is all about maximizing buzz, sales and revenue. And setting the MSRP at an absurd $600 is a premium pricing strategy successfully employed by CRK, Busse and others.

If there is a strategery here, its the maximization of revenue and nothing more insidious. Revenue is why Cold Steel exists.

If it turns out to be crap then it'll show that CS can't produce at the level needed for this price point. They are undoubtedly the best bang for the buck knives I have owned!!!! Aside from my first dalibor!! Either way, it will be interesting to see the finished product. If they want to take longer then take longer... I just think they could take the time to notify of one or two updates. I feel like it's a permanent Christmas Eve!!!!

If they are working through issues I hope they get all the wrinkles out before shipping.
 
I remember when I prepaid for my 550 zt. 14 months later it showed up and I forgot one had ordered it... 4 days before my birthday, I was so pleasantly surprised. Still my go to hard use knife, well at least one of them........ Russ

I've been edcing a Black Rhino for some time now, most of this year so far. Great knife, love the lockup. Been awhile since I bought a new knife. Especially a pricey one. May have to buy one of these for a Christmas present to myself. Or at least get in line for one. LOL.

Current edc "package". Black Rhino at top, obviously. Why did they cease production? It's an awesome blade. The "SNAP" it makes on lockup, just WOW!
 
Yeah this won't be done for Christmas so there goes that idea...

I'm dreaming tonight of a blade I love even more than I usually do... and though I know you're pushed a long way back... I promise you... -- yeah I'm gonna stop right here because this isn't gonna fit for the 4max because it will not be "Home For Christmas."

Maybe it was too good and would have been the only knife one would ever have to buy. Thus the knife mafia is preventing it's release. Same happened to the forever light bulb, infinite match sticks, cure for cavities and cars which drive with water. :-))

More likely they are just refining it a bit to beat the RAOs lock or something completely different.
BTW if it's not a New Years present what's the hurry?
