Maybe they figured that the blade on the original 2015 catalog picture was too close to the blade shape of the 2016 Colossus?

I don't know for sure, but that makes sense to me.

The 3 shaded look was nice from a distance but of course the lighter swedge was just creative lighting. Also when zooming in it really was just stonewash :-( Not really great but if it makes it more affordable and it's a user anyways, why else would it need to be so strong?

For my usual days I'd also like a more acute point than on my ultimate hunter for example but maybe that beast is not very practical for edc anyways.

I love the look of the new 4max , it looks more like my custom 4max in flat grind, I don't like the hollow grind of most of the cold steel knives, that's why I was so glad when they came out with the ffg ultimatehunter.

Well, I'll out. I REALLY don't like how they fattened the tip, and as far as I'm concerned, messed up a beautiful blade grind and finish. :thumbdn:

Some knives have a extra pin you can put through the handle to lock the blade into a fixed knife . Maybe that could be it

I like the stonewash, but I'm not a fan of the rounded tip. I REALLY like the original iteration of the 4 Max, however, I am sure I will be getting one regardless.

Is it me or that 4-max isn't sharpened properly? the base of the edge thickens and looks odd...it will be pain to sharpen that knife and I don't see a point of using CPM 20cv if the edge geometry is thick and wont slice anything.

I wouldn't pay $400-600 for that type of sharpening job.

I think this is perhaps the baddest ass knife available on BF right now. I would buy one pronto!
