#44 Northwoods barlow.

Congrats to you Derrick for bringing these out and looks like they have been and will continue to be very popular. Too big for me personally but the thinner width will help greatly to minimize this issue. So far I have ordered 3 Northwoods knives, the Burnside, Fremont and Forest Jacks. All have met or exceeded my expectations.

What do you guys think of the jigged bone? Every knife I've bought in the past two years has had ebony scales. I'm branching out with this purchase. My initial impression was to get the camel bone but now I'm getting the pre purchase jitters. Do I maybe want the jigged bone? I have seen more aesthetically pleasing jigged bone, but I kinda like the sporadic patterns to this....

Derrick, how many are in this order? That may help some people decide if they can wait a bit to order or they feel they must order quickly.

I am biased, but this jiggled bone is awesome. I like it better than most. The camel bone is great if you like smooth. If you like both.... Well, you know what to do!

Keep the discussion to the knives please. Questions on inventory, availability, pricing need to be asked outside the discussion forums.

I did just get approved for my first credit card:D.................. No way could I take that route without putting ones in hiding for a considerable amount of time or, as I've said before, the girl would kill me dead.
Well, I literally just flipped a quarter and it came up heads. That means the jig bone. Thanks for getting these done Derrick, it'll be my first big folder. And thanks for running a great business, got my first nice slippie from you a little while back. It was the Indian River Jack in ebony. To date the nicest, darkest ebony I've received on a knife.

I have been drooling over these since I got the ksf email earlier today....... Not sure how much longer I can hold out! My northwoods canoe that I bought recently has been my go to knife since it arrived, so more northwoods knives are in my future and I love the look of that mammoth

All beautiful but the coarse cut, jigged Autumn Gold will be my choice this time around. Looks like a user, one I could slip into my saddle roll. The fact that I don't have a saddle roll doesn't deter me one little bit! ;-)

I'm sorry if this is a newbie question, but what does "ivory with character" mean? Is it just the ivory that has darker areas?

Ivory develops small cracks and changes color as it ages and you use the knife. If it has character, it means that it is "broken in" already.
Btw: I just went onto ksf to buy a mammoth one, and it looks like they are sold out already!!!

Just ordered an ebony and camel bone...! Been so keen for these. We'll see, maybe even get a jigged bone next pay. That random jigging looks great!

Richard

i was paying with paypal with this in my cart, page loaded and it was no longer available :p picked up #4 instead

Wow, I sure am glad I didn't hesitate when I saw that it was available! I feel like that was the "one" to have out of the mammoth ones. And knowing there were only 15 is a huge addition!

I don't know where you're counting these jig boned knives vandercar, they only show one on the site.
